Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam in Bangkok was a great place to stay in. We had a very comfortable stay. The breakfast in the Boat across the street was excellent. Only the access through the basement car park was a little untidy. The food in the restaurant was great. Their staff was very helpful. It was definitely worth it !!! Johnny from Myanmar at the Reception Desk stood out from the rest of the team.

We were there in mid March. Thanks for the reception allowing us to check in before noon. Very quick check in and out. They suggested room upgrade to Main Building (my recommendation), the cleaning service is spotless. We had a corner room and it is HUGE with AMAZING sunset view (our room was 12916). The rooftop pool is very big and nice. We had no time for gym, didn't try breakfast as we just wanted to try street food around the hotel as many suggested. Over all VERY great stay with affordable price. Definitely we will come back again end of this year.

The room is very spacious and clean. The staff are very polite and helpful. We enjoyed our 4 nights stay in this hotel. They have nice restaurants. The swimming pool is clean and well-maintained. Very convenient to stores and malls. They are just right next to 7 eleven. Walking distance to the popular malls too.

Got a room at 29th floor the view is stunning as it’s a family size room. Is clean, tidy and spacious . I do have trouble adjusting the shower head as the indicator is pretty weird. Affordable price as breakfast is included as well. Great location too

The Front office and concierge staffs at The Berkeley were fantastic - friendly, helpful and always went the extra mile. From the warm welcome in the lobby, where the staff were incredibly attentive. The lobby is spick and span . The next Bangkok trip will definitely be back for sure. Thank the Berkeley hotel.

Reception staff were friendly and efficient. The concierge was very helpful. The bar staff in the lobby bar and The Oaks bar near the pool were great. The pool was refreshing after a hot and humid day doing tourist things. Breakfast hit all the spots. The hotel is situated near the Pratunam ferry which is only one stop to Jim Thompson House museum. Close to Central World and Platinum shops

Tired, dirty out dated. We only stopped one night wanting a reasonable 5 star. This may well have been 5 star 30myears ago but now it’s tired. On arriving we were asked for a cash deposit, we could use card but it would be 4 to 5 weeks to refund. Never heard anything so ridiculous at a hotel. We were offered a high room which we thought would be great but on the 32 floor it took circa 90 seconds for the lift to go up,when one actually arrived. We had little time in transit so wanted to get on and explore Bangkok…. However after 20minutes I had to call down to get our luggage, I could have just taken it up with me. Because of a false balcony the view was redundant. The room was big, and it took c 45 minutes for the ac to get the temperature only as far down as 24. The pool area was lovely, but they insisted on pumping the music out at a silly high volume so. It a great place to chill. On eixir I asked for a meter taxi to the airport, they said 500 beat, clearly the doorman on the take… after refusing 3 taxi we got the meter one and the cost was 190 baht….

Myself, my husband and 2 kids (boy- 2 girl-1) stayed at this hotel in June 2023. We arrived in Bangkok at roughly 7 am and to the hotel at 9am. We decided to head straight out to avoid any jet lag that might kick in and decided to have an early night so we would be well rested the next day. We ate dinner at the hotel and went back to our room at around 6pm. The kids fell asleep straight away and me and my husband went to sleep at roughly 7/8pm. As we were staying in a suite my son slept in the single bed and me my husband and daughter would sleep in the king. Before I went to sleep I became slightly paranoid as this was our first family holiday abroad with our children (before our journey I had already been overthinking and even bought AirTags to attach to my kids) but my “overthinking mum mind” kicked in and I got up to make sure the door was locked. I couldn’t find a secondary lock (maybe because it was dark and I was exhausted) so decided to put our big heavy double pushchair against the door with the breaks on. I headed for bed and asked my husband to make sure all lights were off before he went to sleep. At 11 pm I was woken up by a bright shining light and was annoyed that my husband had left the lights on, I got out of bed to turn the lights and was in complete shock when I realised that the light was coming from the hotel hallway as the room door had been opened and left open (as far as it would go with the pushchair in front of it)!! I felt sick, shocked and scared! The pushchair that I had left in front of the door had been knocked over so I’m assuming some force was used. I was shocked that we didn’t wake up to the sound but can only assume it’s because we were flat out from the journey. We were extremely shaken. Obviously as a mum I was terrified for my children’s safety so that night we all slept in the same bed. My husband realised there was a small turn for the secondary lock under the door handle so we locked the door put the pushchair back against the door and decided that rather than getting up and disturbing our kids as it was already midnight, we would go to the reception the following morning. I went to the reception desk and explained what had happened and they seemed shocked and cancelled all cards that had access to the room. As we were in a suite and our room was at the end of the corridor luckily there was a camera in front of our door. The staff said they would get the security team to look into and get back in touch with us, but no one ever did!!! For the rest of our stay (5 days) my husband slept in the single bed and I slept in the king with my kids as I’m usually a light sleeper. every night before we went to bed we’d make sure the secondary lock was on and even piled up all of our suitcases as well as the pushchair against the door. Not what you would expect in a 5 star hotel and tbh this experience has put me off visiting Thailand again! To this day I don’t know whether it was our belongings this person was after or our children but someone tried to break into our room and I so am thankful that the pushchair was in front of the door! I would hate to know what would’ve happened if it wasn’t.

The hotel is located in a good location for shopping and dining. The Palladium mall attached to the hotel was barely functional. Most of the shops were closed. The worst part of the stay was the elevators. They have 6 elevators for their 800 rooms and it can take at least 5 mins of wait time for the elevator to arrive and ferry you. Most of the time, the elevators are packed with guests who want to access level 11 to transfer to the next tower. And the entire hotel seems to be filled with guests from India. Even the hotel breakfast buffet has a vegetarian Indian section for guests from India. The Indian food selections were slightly better than the continental, but be prepared to queue very long for the food in the buffet. The hotel staff manning the live stations seem not bothered by guests who cut the queue or barge in to order their food without queuing. We stayed there for 5 days and these happened every single morning. Overall, I highly recommend not purchasing the hotel breakfast buffet as it can be extremely crowded and unpleasant. We got the family suite which comprises 2 queen-sized beds. The room was old and dainty. The bathtub was stained. The shower head kept leaking. The glasses and cups were all barely washed and had food stains and grime over it. The curtains barely closed fully and we couldn't have a good night's sleep due to the light from the building opposite. The aircon wind direction could not be operated and it was noisy. We regret booking this hotel for my family and we came across other guests who shared the same sentiments.
