I stayed here for one night due to a complication with my original hotel, yes it was cheap and had a comfortable bed, but all I can say is that I was not at all pleased with my stay here. Firstly, although it is 'central' in Bangkok, it is in the business district and other than a Starbucks (that was...

Location: Sathorn Tai is a well-known road but the road is very long. The YWCA building is not facing the main road, it is behind Bangkok Insurance building. Tell the taxi driver to go to Bangkok Insurance building instead of YWCA as most drivers don't know where YWCA is. If the taxi drivers don't know how to go to Bangkok...

Centrally located, friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms large with basic facilities but comfy beds, with rather bulky pillows! Similar to a hostel, but much better. Air conditioning that works, ensuite shower, 2 towels per person, fridge, drinking water. We felt secure, safe. Blinds on window would be a good idea? On busy road, but building is tucked behind / amongst...

The YWCA is clean and inexpensive. Internet is extra, but is reasonably priced. If stuck without a place to stay, this is a safe option in a good area of town. But you will need to walk a few blocks to get a meal later in the evening. The room I stayed in had no bed tables or reading lamps...

It seems that all the other hotels on the same road are really posh ones, so this is in a good area at a fraction of the price. It's a no frills hotel room (I'd compare it to a Travelodge in the UK), but the staff are kind and friendly and my stay here has been easy. The downside here...

We are Sri Lankans and our whole family stayed all of 7 people. The rooms and toilets were very clean and the staff was very helpful we found it to be very homely. We did not have anything to complain about and hope to go there this year december 2007. Soysa Sri-Lanka

I have stayed as a resident at the YWCA in Bangkok for over six months and would advise everyone on a budget to opt for this place. It is close to both night markets at lumpini park and the patpong night area. Has a good connection to the subway and skytrain and a busstop right in front. The rooms are...

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
