Shambara (now Tai Derm) is a nice, reasonably priced hostel and I stayed there a few times since 2006. It is clear off but yet very close to busy Khao San Road. We went to stay there again in January 2015. They have changed names...More

Excellent location - a peace island in busy Khao San. The hostel is quite basic but very cheap and the management is helpful. Totally recommended if you're on a budget. Went there in 2010 and not in 2012 as stated.
