So a trip to the airport saw the hotel demand 550 baht which they said included the toll for the motorway. Our driver was given 380 and avoided the toll. When I phoned the hotel to question this, they said that they gave him all the money but my girlfriend saw the hotel representative only give him some of it....

We kknew we were arriving late in Bangkok, 2 a.m. before we cleared customs. Our son and daughter in law booked at Rambuttri Village add we could rest up before heading to Kanchanaburi on Saturday. Perfect. Quiet, comfortable room, solid A/C-it was 88f at 3 a.m. Rambuttri Village is a short walk from Khao Sarn Rd, so we took a...

This is a honest hotel. Very good location good price. Very close to the hotel are nice restaurants and food stands. The room is clean. It can be a little noise due to the air condition machines outside the window. The luggage storage for after you check out is paid - 20 baths for each piece. The breakfast is good....

It's cheap, but you get what you pay. It's clean, simple, confy bed, the bathroom is very simple. A lot of stairs and no elevator, a bad thing for those with big bags. The breakfast has a lot of options and it's delicious.

Average hotel. Good breakfast though. Did not like the room much. A bit dark and smelly toilet. Has a good location close to the market and the pool it's good. If you want to spend only 2 days in BKK try it.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel. It is ideally located and has been clean and tidy every time. Its a basic hotel that is ideal for a short stay, the rooftop pool is quite good, but be quick if you want a bed. Next time we travel through Bangkok we will certainly stay here again.

Great hotel, with some lovely pool areas, stayed here twice, and the first time I had nothing to complain about but second time the cleaning was not 100% spot on, the fridge was full of old food leftover from previous visitors, but well it is human to fail and the rest seemed up to the standards from my previous stay...

Good budget hotel with two roof top pools. Close to khoa san road, but not right on it. So is quiet. Rambuttri is a lovely road, selling loads of cool stuff on stalls. Good restaurants, great massage shops, and some cool little cocktails vw vans. Staff kind and helpful. Rooms big enough for solo travellers, or a couple. Probably wouldnt...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
