The door didn't lock so we had to spend money on a padlock, the toilet was initially blocked with a bar of soap, the bedding has cigarette burns, the window doesn't close and we can hear the protestors, the stairs are wobbly, the bed was DEFINATELY not a double bed (too small), the little curtain thing at the window was...

Booked online before we left the UK without seeing the room in the flesh and it looked ok and was cheap so we thought why not..we'll try it for a couple of nights. However we only ended up staying the one night due to very poor standards. We booked a double room, but the bed looked more like a single...

Clean. seemed safe, as the lobby is open to the street , with no doors and the receptionist sits there 24 hr. There were as...

I stayed in an aircon room with ensuite. Despite lacking any wardrobes or shelving it was spotlessly clean with two large beds. as a special offer booked via the internet it was comfortable for a few nights albeit a little sparten. Service was fine. Best of all was it's location...only 2 minutes walk to Khao San Road (through a nearby...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
