Connoisseurs of interior design will find this place well worth a visit. Hard to pick an era but it seems to have been the genius of someone with a love of grand ornamentation of a forgotten age, which minimalists might say is best kept that...More

It shows as three star hotel but no drinking water bottle supply, no tooth brush supply. Small room with no window. Old stuffs and not good in ventalation. A little far away from BRT and main locations to visit.
My husband and I stayed for one night before we went to the airport the following day. The only real positives were that the bed was huge so we slept well and our large bags which we didn't want to carry around all day after...More

Hi Cindy. We have just returned from Thailand and stayed one night in this hotel before flying back to the UK. It is situated off the main road but that is a bonus as there is mucho traffic in Bangkok so it's makes it safer and quieter to be off the main highways. It can make it difficult to get a cab but the hotel staff were great and sorted that out for us, even negotiating a reasonable fare. Getting to the airport was easy too and the hotel staff advised me about this - they have leaflets on the reception desk. I was going to get a cab direct to the airport which would have cost around 400 - 500 baht. However, we ended up getting a tuk tuk (a not to be missed experience in the city but not for the faint hearted!) costing 80 baht, to the Sky train (BST) at Phyathai that went straight into the airport costing 90 baht for the two of us as I remember. The hotel is very near the main shopping malls, (MBK and Siam Square) walkable if you can manage the heat - they have a street map on reception and will show you the way. Reception staff were very helpful and spoke english. The room we stayed in was basic but clean, hot water plentiful, air con effective. Not much of a view out of the window but that is common in Bangkok where they have squeezed buildings into limited space but not a problem if it's just a base. The hotel is in central Bangkok but it depends on what tourist attractions you want to visit as to whether they are close. It is just off Rama IV road which is a major highway in the city and Democracy Monument is also close by and central. The hotel will help you with tours you want to do and the journey to Phuket probably if this hasn't already been arranged. Hope this helps and you have a great time in Thailand - we did!
