We stayed here three times while transiting through Bangkok and can't really find many faults with it. We got a double with shared bathroom for 320 baht every time and the room was clean, if a little stuffy, with fan and window. Staff were usually friendly although at times it got a little busy and they could be a little...

This place is conviently located down a side ally and near by the river taxi. The front desk were kind of 'over worked and under paid' but on the whole good enough. They also had a good policy on outside guests. It was almost all 30 something backpackers. They provide internet at 10 baht for 15 mins using coins in...

This place is good but the staff not very friendly.the room is clean but very small, not very good value for money! When we ask the travel agency in the hostel they gave us a price 2 times more expensive than the little agency next door. You can stay there but do not want service and information!

Room: we tried both individual and double rooms. Rooms are basic, but pretty clean. Rooms with fans tend to get very hot, but there are also AC rooms available, which we did not tried. The share bathroom is clean enough. Other amenities: great travel agency, with a very nice woman which was very helpful. Location: central, next to Kao San...

We are really glad we actually read the reviews from trip advisor prior booking our room cos if not we could have had sleepless nights. New Siam is located in a much quieter ally and after a long day of walking we really needed the rest. When we walked the night market at Khao San (BOY IT WAS SO LOUD)...

Very clean rooms at reasonable price. Location it's just perfect on quiet street still close to Khao San Road ( 5 mins walk). Staff friendly, once we have a problem with aircon working too loud, it was not a problem to change it for another room. Restaurant downstairs serves good food and good prices. Btw. not worth to buy the...

Arrived at the hotel on the last night of the thai new year water fight, so the streets were busy and loud, but the room where we stayed was rather quiet. we took a double bedroom with shared bathroom for 350 bahts. the bathrooms are cleaned very often. the room was quite clean as well. restaurant did good food. all...

Clean rooms, ideal location in a quiet lane just few steps away from Khao San, nice staff. You'll find nothing better for this price in the Khao San area. Fan rooms are really cheap and clean. A/C rooms have much higher standard, but almost twice more expencive. I'll defenetly stay there again when I come to Bangkok.

We booked this place over the phone from Koh Phanang the day before we left the Island. I told the receptionist we would arrive a 9pm. When we arrived I was berated by the lady at check in for being 12 hours late. Although the 'pm' had clearly just been misheard for am, she insisted that I had told her...

We stayed here for 4 nights at the start of our travels in June after being recommended by other backpackers. We enjoyed our stay there, it wasn't too pricey (we opted for a double with private bathroom and air con) and it was clean with safe inside and a desk/seat area too which was handy with our bags. The location...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
