After a week’s stay in Bangkok, I had to check out at 1 pm from my hotel, and as I had a late evening departure from BKK, I wanted an inexpensive place for a few hours where I could keep my bags, change clothes, take a shower and lie down a bit. So I booked the Florida for a one-night stay at the bargain price of 28 EUR (and actually didn’t even spend the night). The hotel might look dire from the outside, and it sure is a remnant of the 1970s, but it is still a solid choice for anyone who needs a place to stay the night before an early flight. The hotel is located right next to Phaya Thai station, and you’ll be on the airport train platform within three minutes. I checked in at 1:25 pm. The hotel seemed quiet, the lobby was empty and a bit dark – as if the hustle and bustle of Bangkok had suddenly vanished. The receptionist was friendly and spoke some English – not much, but we got by. I got my room immediately. No key deposit was required. The room was of good size. While it was definitely outdated, everything was clean and tidy and nothing was broken. There were two single beds, a bit hard, a desk & chair as well as a coffe table & chair. There was efficient and quiet A/C, and two hotel-branded 0.5 L water bottles were provided. There was a fridge, but no safe. Charging your devices was easy, there were sockets behind the bedside table was well as next to the desk (both at floor level). Wifi was free and fast, but limited to one decive only. I didn’t ask for a second wifi code, perhaps they would have provided that on request. The bathroom came with a bathtub and a handheld shower, but the hose was short so showering was a bit difficult. The water was lukewarm at best – okay for showering, but don’t plan on taking a hot bath. Water pressure was adequate. Soap bars and a minibottle of hotel-branded shampoo were provided. I was happy to find a swimming pool in the small backyard. While the pool wasn’t huge, it was quite adequate and the water temperature was pleasant. Bring a towel from your room. There is a restaurant, too, but I didn’t try it. By European standards, I would rate this hotel at 2.5 stars. For the price I paid, I definitely got value for money so in its own category, I would say the hotel did really well. Just don’t expect the Ritz. I wouldn’t hesitate to book the Florida again if I need a place to stay before my flight. I would happily spend the night here, too, but for a longer stay, I would look for a hotel that offers more amenities.

good choice for a night or 2 if you want easy access to the airport. Hotel is dated but I found it clean and good value. Good transport links from here to the rest of Bangkok. I would have no issues staying here again.

Location is very close to Phayathai BTS which is convenient for travellers to airport & rooms are also good as per the price. It is proper value for money but the staff is a bit careless & it seem they do not bother about customer service. There was no hot water for shower so when i bought to their notice they checked & told that they will get it repaired on the very first day. I got the same reply on 2nd day & 3rd day as well & on 4th day was the last day of my visit so i had to take shower with cold water only all days.

First of all, the location of this hotel is very, very good as its near BTS/ Airport Rail Link Phayathai Station. Convenience stores such as 7-11 are very near, and a lot of taxis can be found in this area. However, the room was quite basic and old school, so nothing much to write about unless you only need a place to sleep in and that's it. It's still a good place to stay if you're looking for convenience over comfort.

Pros - If you want to save some walking or wasting money on Taxi or Tuk-Tuk this is the place to be. Its exactly 1 minute from Phaya Thai BTS. .right under the station nose ! Take Exit 2 of BTS and then the Lift down. There's a 7/11 convenience store right opposite the hotel for your daily buys. What more can you ask ? Interchanging between BTS and Airport Rail Link is damn easy coz the hotel is located at a junction. There a few Thai and Western restaurants and a Coffee shop right next to the hotel. Rooms have bathtubs Cons - Hotel has a Restaurant but doesn't provide you free breakfast.. only a room No tea or Coffee in the room. In every possibility your room window will face a big blank wall. Absolutely no view ! The Hotel was almost empty ..yet they didn't provide a View. Had to settle with staring the Wall ! Good for transit not for holidaying. Furniture is old school And just the basic things you may require

You get what you pay for. Basic room but spacious. Bed was hard but suited me fine. Terrific location just steps away from the bts and airport rail link. Next to a main road so some noise is expected if your room faces the road. Only book if u are ok with basic comfort for convenience sake to transportation.

The only thing this place has going is its location. Honestly for the price point it was easier for me to drop my luggage off at the airport and not stay here again. I have stayed here numerous times in the past and its location is the selling point. The rooms have seen better days and the floor hallways have a run down feel to the them. The staff is helpful and the free breakfast is serviceable.

Florida Hotel has been there for ages and still maintain the look of good old Bangkok hotels 60/70 style and a restaurant with western and Thai menu quite popular back then). I decided to get Florida hotel because the location that is convenient for walking and public transportation. It is located about 2 minutes walk from the Airport link and right at the north end exit of the BTS, The hotel overall is clean and has clean (uncomfortable bed) good for transit not for relaxing. Staff at the reception counter speak with limited English. The place is quite popular with Thais and regional (Asian) travelers. Again, the price is right for the convenient location (nothing else). By the way, please have 500 baht cash for key guaranteed. Otherwise, the room will not be given to you. I will consider staying with a quick transit in BKK.

I am usually quite easy to please, but apart from the position next to Phaya Thai BTS station, there was nothing very pleasing about the Florida hotel. Slow wifi, which kept dropping out, 2 hard single beds when a double room was booked, no bench in the very tired bathroom, and a noisy ac , supported by terrible traffic noise. Overpriced, worn out and disinterested staff. The hotels best days are long gone never to return, as am I.

For a one night stay on a fly in, fly out visit this hotel was perfect. I bet it was a happening place in the 1960's when it opened. Loved the typewriters at the reception desk. Situated at the end of the train line from Bangkok airport we could not have asked for a more convenient location. Our room on the sixth floor had great air conditioning and comfortable beds. The bathroom had only the basic supplies of soap and clean towels. My husband enjoyed the swimming pool on the ground floor and the dining room served good standard fare, if the heat deters you from venturing out. We were the only Westerns staying there at the time.
