My wife and I stayed at the siamotif hotel for two nights. The hotel is very beautiful and is a unique wooden house building right on the river. Our room was small, but had everything we needed and had a small porch to sit on and look at the canal/river. There is a small common area on the first floor of the hotel if you want to relax and not be in your room.

Each morning breakfast the hotel provides and serves you breakfast. They choose the menu but it consisted of yogurt, fruit, toast, an egg of some preparation, a prepared vegetable and coffee/tea.

The hotel is away from the busiest area of the city, but we did not find it hard to commute in and explore. The MRT has a new train stop 5 minutes from the hotel on the blue line. This new section of the blue line is only open 10am-4pm everyday while it is in the testing phase (January -April 2020) but made it very easy to hop on the train and get to the Chatuchak market, the royal palace, wat pho, and China town. The majority of the blue line in the city is open much earlier and later everyday. Each ride is around 30 baht. After 4pm you can take the blue line to a stop around 2-3km from the hotel and take a taxi (grab) from there back to the hotel.

Overall our stay at siamotif was great. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and provided a unique hotel experience which was outside the busiest parts of the city. We would recommend for others to stay if you do not want to be in an extremely busy part of town.

The hotel arranged for a taxi from the airport for 1000baht, and we chose to use grab to return to the airport (400baht).

Siamotif exceeded our expectations in every way. Mai sent instructions as to how to find the hotel which was really helpful. Our room was delightful. The owner Mai was there to welcome us and couldn’t have been more helpful in making suggestions for good value local transport options (bus / boat/ subway) as well as other sightseeing trips. We really had the best time and would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a truly authentic experience.

From the first contact with Maii at Siamotif I knew that we would feel right at home here. We haven't been to Thailand like most since 2019 and the welcome we received from Maii and the rest of the staff was the warmest we could have expected. The pictures don't do the hotel and experience justice, true Thai hospitality in a true Thai surroundings.

The rooms are all individually decorated, we stayed in Celadon room on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the canal. It is smaller than most rooms in Bangkok, but everything you will need is there, it's clean and tidy and generally who goes on holiday to sit in the room all day?

The breakfasts were delicious, I particularly enjoyed the different variations we had each day and experiencing new flavours.

The location on the west side of the Chao Phraya river was a lovely change from the more touristy east side, the MRT is a short walk away, the river taxi's just a bit further but plenty of taxi's available and Maii will be more than happy to assist you should you require a taxi calling.

Overall we had a beautiful, wonderful stay at Siamotif and will definitely be back and recommending to others. Thank you Maii and all your wonderful staff you truly are a hidden gem and the true meaning of Thai hospitality.

I'm writing from the perspective of someone who traveled 24 hours from the United States to Thailand. I fell in love with this hotel through the pictures and when I saw that it was right next to the water, I booked it. After all the reviews were wonderful. However, I was disappointed to find out that being on a canal is not the same as being on the main river. I was expecting that I'd be centrally located because of its location. But that's my mistake.

But really the location is the main downside of this hotel. It's in a gritty neighborhood and far from main attractions and liveliness. We arrived around midnight and to our surprise, the hotel is not accessible to cars. It's confusing to find it and in our attempt to find it, we were almost bit by a rottweiler that's guarding a temple. Scary.

It's not one of the hotels where you can retreat to for an afternoon break after sightseeing all day. It's really far (~1 hour in Bangkok traffic from main attractions) there aren't any restaurants around. On a Saturday night, we had trouble finding taxis who would take us into Silom Rd and on our way back it was even worse. No public transport available.

Also, we booked the Crane room and it was too small for two people traveling with 2 bags each. Also, it's really loud. Not great for getting over jetlag - take ear plugs. Just a fair warning in case you're considering it.

In sum, it's a beautiful place but I would not have stayed there if I had known these details.

This hotel is so charming with traditional Thai style. It's like all the quaintness of the historic building but with power showers and modern essentials included. We felt so at home here with our two children and much preferred to the larger more corporate Bangkok hotel we stayed at previously. This has opened my eyes to staying in family-owned boutique places which I previously thought might be a bit rough round the edges but this place is spotless!! Rooms are gorgeous would recommend the one with the balcony for more space. Food is fantastic breakfast each morning boys had cereal/toast and we had Thai style. The hosts are lovely and their cat Mark was adored by my youngest son. Chilling out along the river just perfect! Will be coming again next time we are in Bangkok!

I was the 1st guest after covid-19 months...
( Due to Thai government regulations, the hotel was closed for 2 months )
And during this period they renovated the new room “Porcelain" and I was also the 1st guest for this new room:)
I was very lucky to stay over and I had such a great time in the hotel, reading, writing, and most amazingly part; chatting with the owners Maii and Toon.
They are so nice and kind, super helpful to share some tips/stories about Bangkok and the hotel.

If you are looking for a stylish thai traditional place also mixed fusion elements, also get away from Bangkok city. I strongly recommended here and you can also hangout with Maii's lovely cats.

The other best thing about here is the lobby and open spaces for all the guests, it makes me feel like staying at home, and reading besides the river was so quiet and chill.

Lastly, I love the breakfast, a toast with some traditional thai food and dessert opens a new day for me!
I will definitely come back for sure! Looking forward!

It was just the perfect place to discover Bangkok. Typical, superb decoration within the room and outside. The view was perfect and we loved the little balcony.
The owner was so sweet (she played music - traditional Thai instrument- when I suggested it to her) she provided tips on our program, we visited the floating market thanks to her. I would definitely recommend this place and go back!!

I love Bangkok and when I visit, I like to move around a little, and stay in a few different parts of town and in different hotels. In this trip I wanted to stay in a more traditional facility for a few days, and this hotel was perfect. I was really lucky because this hotel is typically fully booked, and I found a room for two nights in the high season.

The hotel isn't too far from some of the sites, but that's not really why you stay here. Its really more the experience of staying in a more traditional building with an incredibly friendly staff catering to you.

It has the perfect mix of traditional (the bedroom) and modern (the bathroom) to make the experience enjoyable. The room was really really small - I didn't spend more time in it than necessary to sleep. I would then go to the common area and mingle with other guests, all of whom have interesting stories to tell. Oddly, almost all the guests I met were Americans, but that might have been a coincidence.

The notable thing is the overwhelmingly positive care I was given by the staff. They cooked food to my taste (spicy!!) and did everything they could to make sure i was comfortable. I don't always like to be doted on, but it was nice for a few days.

If there's a downside, its on a canal and boats that come by make a TON of noise - enough to stop a conversation until they pass. Otherwise, the canal setting is very nice.

This is an amazing traditional Thai style wooden house that has been converted into separate rooms. We stayed in charcoal which is on the ground floor and has a terrace overlooking the river which is a great place to sit and relax. The room was a little small and dark but the outside area made up for it. This room does have a large sunken bath as well as a shower but unfortunately it would have taken days to fill it!
The ladies working there were very friendly and prided themselves on providing an authentic Thai style breakfast which was slightly different every day. They can also do evening meals on request although we tried one evening and the portion size was very small.
Location is good as near the MRT and it's also nice to wander round the alleys and streets close by.
My only slight issues were that I would have liked a chair rather than a beanbag to sit on the terrace and the gates were always locked so you had to ask every time you wanted to come in and out.
Overall though a lovely experience away from the skyscrapers and large hotels.

This was the second of two hotels we stayed in during our visit to Bangkok. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It is a well-hidden place, although they sent great directions on how to find it, including pictures. You have to walk a short distance through a cool little alley next to the canal. The Siamotif is a little bit out of the way from central Bangkok, although you are just a short walk from the train, so getting into town is not hard, Also, taxi service is fine, and we thoroughly enjoyed the location overlooking the canal, Very relaxing. Rooms were clean and simple.
