In the middle of the Old town nearby several good bars and restaurants. Very basic but that is perfect for the budget travelers. I stay 5 nights during Songkran. Little bit noise around the area at night but not too loud. Will stay here again for sure.

No frills basic hostel-like accommodation. If you're on a budget and visiting Chiang Mai, this is a great location (within the old city walls) with access to lots of temples, restaurants and tours. The room we stayed in was a basic ensuite double with bathroom. It was old but serviceable. Bed was nice, hard and comfortable (I don’t sleep well on soft beds). Bit of noise from the bars all around you, but if you're used to that you'll be fine. Worst case scenario just use earplugs. Also most places turn their music off at midnight.

Location is fab for exploring Chiang Mai, and the room was bigger than we expected for the price (double ensuite with aircon). The garden is nice, and staff helpful. The walls between rooms were fine, but you can hear quite a lot from nearby bars through the main door. Good value overall though!

This is a pretty simple but cool 3 floor guesthouse very near the action in Nimman district in CM. It’s clean, light and airy and reasonably priced rooms with shower, toilet and basin. Cute alleyway right outside. Gets a bit noisy at night with the club precinct close by but music finishes at midnight.

For the price it was adequate. If you like lizards then book here- should be a lizard sanctuary. Literally more lizards than walls on the outside of our room. Good location. Very bad fans in the room. Actually slept in the shower a few nights since that was freezing cold. Wouldn’t return but to be fair it was cheap prices and the receptionist was helpful. It is what it is.

Location wise is great, especially considering the price. However, beds were horrible! Really hard to settle and to rest on them. Heat in the room is also quite bad and the fan doesn't help much.I guess you get what you pay for

We spent 5 nights in Jungala House in January 2018. We asked to view the room before we made a decision to lodge here. We got a fan room for 400THB per night. Decent fan that rotates. Twist door handle lock and padlock for locking upthrust room. 3 sets of plug outlets (one of which was a double outlet). Bed sheets and mattress were reasonably clean as was the rest of the room and (ensuite) bathroom/shower. Shower doesn't have any partition so water goes everywhere when you use it and has a tendency to leak out of bathroom if door isn't fully closed. Room is a bit run down, in need of a bit of a refresh. Guest house is in a good location, only 5 min walk from East Gate and loads of bars within a minute walk. Staff are nice but there was little interaction was forthcoming from staff. For example, Jungala apparently offer and organise day treks however we never were asked or offer any information about such. They offer breakfast and laundry. Breakfast options are limited but low price. We also availed of their laundry service, but some clothes returned with odd orange marking on them (looked like rust stains?). They washed the clothes again free of charge however. When we checked in, we were accidentally overcharged for our stay (which we missed at the time however the man who checked us in caught the mistake and rushed up to our rooms to give us the excess money back to us). However, would stay there again as price is reasonable, good location and rooms were reasonably clean.

I had a nice room with my own bathroom for a very good price in the heart of Chiang Mai. It was clean and the staff is very friendly. At Loi Krathong they even offered making your own Krathong which was fun. The WiFi is pretty weak if you go some meters away from the router but it's still doing it's job. To sum it up it's a nice place to stay (even for 8 nights as I did).

This accommodation is just what a backpacker needs - in the old town of Chiang Mai so you can easily access most things by foot or tuktuk if you’re feeling a bit tired, cheap prices, nothing fancy inside - just a bed, a sink, a shower and a toilet, and some toast for breakfast. The staff are friendly, offering recommendations when asked or leaving you alone if you’d prefer. The only downside of being near everything is the sound at night, some nights we would hear very loud music which from the nearby bars which would prevent us from getting to sleep, but it always stopped around midnight so not too late to get a good nights beauty sleep. The room was clean, cheap and pretty comfortable. Exactly what we would have hoped for for the price, we were just expecting a little more from the photographs - but that’s our rookie error.

This place welcomed us like home, clean and perfect size rooms, hot water showers, friendly and good advice about everything. Safe and clean place to stay. The staff is always very helpful and will make sure you feel welcome. The location is amazing, everything is within walking distance, 7/11 and even coin laundry just around the corner Thank you so much for everything, hopefully we can come back one day!
