Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is very beautiful and peaceful! A little oasis in the middle of busy Chiang Mai. The apartment was comfortable, big and clean and the staff (especially Kate and Rose) were so lovely and supportive. Kate organised all of our tours and tried to make everything possible for us. Only 2 minor negative things: - I found the beds/matresses were really hard (but they tried to find a solution to make th more comfortable for me) - the airport transfer was really expensive compared to the normal airport taxi (1200 THB vs. 200 THB)

Perfect hideaway in Chiang Mai, close to the old town and temples. Staff are super friendly and the hotel is just like the jungle itself, so green and natural. We loved it! Try the mango papaya shake :)

We spent fourteen nights in Shewe Wana and it was an amazing experience. It was like a dream walking along the green path to our traditional style house. I said it was a house because there are a sitting room, a dining space, a kitchen, a cloakroom, a bathroom, and a large bedroom. All are decorated in lovely Thai style which was the exact reason why I picked Shewe Wana. Various kinds of breakfast are waiting for you every morning. The staff are friendly and helpful. I love the way they always wear a smile when talking to us. However, there are problems must be mentioned. The lights in the house are so dim that the sitting couldn't function well. We could hardly watch TV or use Wifi because of the poor reception. Actually we simply gave it up. You can dial any number but the phone connects to the front desk only. It's quite inconvenient, for we wanted to reserve the local tours. We hope the problems could be solved quickly so that Shewe Wana will be upgraded soon.

Lovely old-style boutique hotel. Comfortable with all amenities. Lovely food and wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Breakfasts are best I’ve had in Thailand. Location not far from old town and markets. Thoroughly recommend. Would stay again.

There were three of us that stayed for 3 days, we did get the 2 room suite, the pictures did not do as much justice as in person. We were all happy with the stay. The staff helped with any questions, remembered us when we came in for breakfast (which we added the breakfast option). In reading some reviews I will say that you do have to realize you are in a very tropical/jungle city, things like bugs, vegetation, and similar will be there. I will say that nothing bothered me, I was happy with the stay, and I would truly go back again.

Shewe Wana is a hidden gem in Chiang Mai and a resort that I highly recommend to every visitor to Chiang Mai. We stayed in the 2-bedroom suite which was spacious, clean and beautiful. Staff is extremely friendly and really know how to make their guests feel at home. Location is great, not far from the old city, and there are many local restaurants nearby. Can't wait to return to Chiang Mai and Shewe Wana again!
