After staying in another location in Chiang Mai we didn't expect much from Sarabu but when we arrived we were very pleased. The staff were welcoming, we asked for an air con room and were given keys to a room on the top floor (3 floors of rooms) they only have stairs (some people expected a lift, this didn't bother...

friendly and very honest charming staff - I have given 1,000 baht too much as payment for room and the girl at the check in counter came to my room later saying I had made a mistake - I doubt most places would be so honest. So for that alone a huge thumbs up. Yes its a bit run down...

First time we stayed we used this guesthouse only as base and in the daytime. The room was clean and a good shower in the bathroom. So it was worth its money for us (about 400 baht). Second time we booked this guesthouse we knew we would only check in late at night and leave early the next morning. We...

We stayed in the guesthouse for one night. We got a room on the top floor. The room was spacious but a bit worn down. Bathroom was standard. Wifi was available. Unfortunately they charged the full prize although we visited in low season.

Very horrible experience with this place and surely the worst in thailand. Rooms on 3rd floor...no elevator. Beds saggy, springs worn out, sheets stained. Unclean room Bathroom a total nightmare. as tiny as u can imagine. Booked it for 650 THB though airport counter of Thai Hotels Association. Pictures in leaflet were deceptive. We checked out immediately as the rooms...

We stayed here as a big group, the rooms was dark and damp but very spacious. It's in a good location so that does help. Highlights were the big rooms and friendly staff, but bad points were the bathrooms. Not that nice. But if you are looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful it's not too bad!

...there is an EXTREMELY loud water-pump which keeps switching on-and-off in every 30-45 seconds, and makes sleeping - even with earplugs - almost impossible. If you still manage to fall asleep, the noises from the neighbouring construction yard will probably wake you around 5.30 a.m-6.00. a.m Otherwise the rooms are ok - but some of them, especially on the ground...
