Since the moment my girlfriend and myself stepped into Chiang Mai we started looking for the best Kaoh Soi. The best of this story? We found it by coincidence. Anyways, we loved the Khao Soi at the Log Home Boutique Hotel. On top of this the restaurant has a wonderful garden sitting area. I encourage you to give the sitting area on both sides of the garden a good look as there are some really cool places to sit and enjoy your meal or cocktail of choice. For my girlfriend they made a vegetarian Khao Soi even though is not on the menu and is not the original recipe.

Hotel was clean, and staff were friendly. The room is very basic- there are no wardrobes and the walls are very thin so you can hear everything- we could hear the man next door snoring! The rates are very reasonable though so for what you pay you can’t complain! The breakfast is good and the hotel restaurant is also really good and reasonably priced. Location is great- about a 10 minute walk from the centre and all of the bars/restaurants.

The staff is very nice. They talk and understand english.
Breakfast is not a buffet, you have to choose 1 item from the menu. as a person that adores hotel breakfasts, it was a bit disappoiting.
We had dinner in the hotel 1 night, and I had the "Tom Kha Gai"... It was amazing!
In terms of the room and bathroom, it was more a less. The bathroom is not very pretty. The room is ok. They are both just average cleaned.
The walls between the rooms are very thin, what makes we hear everything from our neighbours, so if you have problems with noise, it's not a good choice.
I think it is a good hotel for a small stay (couple of nights).

have to say was one of the worst places I stayed considering was only in the room for about 6 hours trying to sleep. Snot on towels, no hot water no space to open cases and I cant even go into what we heard from the rooms next door. we checked out after one night and when we complained to agoda took us 3 months to get some of our money back for the next two nights as the "management" made up a few little lies, luckily we had a thai friend with us which could collaborate a few things for us.

On first appearances this hotel should be brilliant. It's in a great location; it is leafy and cool and has a lovely pool area. The setout of the rooms gives it a real community feel. Given all this I thought I'd found a gem when I checked in. But then night time came and its fatal flaw was revealed; the walls are paper thin. Without a word of exaggeration, a sheet strung between the rooms wouldn't be any less effective. Every word and sound is heard, regardless of how quiet. So you're effectively at the mercy of your neighbours. If you're unfortunate enough (as I was) to have loud neighbours who get in after a night drinking and then sit inside with the TV on and talking loudly until 3am despite requests to keep the noise down then you're not going to get much sleep. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but with the walls being so thin it becomes a major problem. It's a shame because this deal-breaker completely ruins what would otherwise be a great little hotel.

The food wasn’t that bad but the fish wasn’t cooked and other dish was just basic taste.
And they charged me 240 bath for a fresh juice.. half of water (really bad move).

I don’t recommande this place

Now I believe what they meant when they said the restaurant is not great, even the Thai food was the worst I tasted.

Ordered beans and it was over salted, Bloody Mary had no tomato juice even though they first told us they had only then to say they don’t.

Cute wooden cabins - not ideal if you have lots of luggage! A cool swimming pool surrounded by a lush and well tended garden. The food is cheap and tasty too, and I highly recommend their ice coffee. You can sometimes hear the neighbours as the wooden walls are thin but it's not a problem. I would say this place is good value if you want a clean AC room with a good shower and a swimming pool.

Very centrally located with its own pool, not far walking from many good restaurants and bars and a short Tuk Tuk ride from many others.
The rooms, though quite small, are designed like a log cabin. Being wooden you will hear your neighbours and they do get very warm unless you have the air conditioning on! Not much storage space in each room so they can feel cramped if you've a lot of luggage.
There's a little seating area outside each cabin and the pool & bar area is also a good place to relax after a long day sightseeing.
The staff are very friendly, our check-in and check-out was a real pleasure.
We didn't eat in the restaurant during the evening but our friends did and said it was very good and very affordable.

This is so right in the middle of everything. The markets, loads of everything you'd want. Very pedestrian - which is not to say there isn't nutso traffic from bicycles, mopeds, cars, tuk-tuks and other pedestrians, but it's a village atmosphere, really. Loads of places to eat if you want to go in and sit down. I don't know whether we were there at a quiet time (the days between Xmas and New Year's) but I have read what was said about it being noisy and simply cannot relate. Maybe it has to do with room location, we were in the inner courtyard, sort of. The room is, indeed very small and very basic. Breakfast and coffee were lovely, staff as so nice and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again.

If I remember, there was a hairdryer fitted in the bathroom, English/American breakfast was £3, that's about $4
