Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for 5 days and there were some exceptional experiences, mixed with odd things that left us confused. On the positive side, the hotel is new, very clean and is centrally-located in the heart of the old city, surrounded by excellent restaurants and bars and very close to several amazing temples. The staff are very friendly and helpful and everyone from the front desk to the pool cleaner greets you with a smile and a friendly “sawadee kraap”. The restaurant serves delicious breakfasts that should appeal to nearly everyone, has fresh juice and makes wonderful hot or iced coffees. In terms of odd things, the pool isn’t heated so it’s pretty cold if the weather is overcast or cooler. The restaurant serves only breakfast and lunch, but closes for dinner and there is no bar or lounge for the guests to meet for drinks pre-dinner. Maybe it’s because there are so many options nearby for food and drink, but sometimes after a long day, you don’t feel like going out, but that’s just not an option here. Finally, after staying for five days in a relatively expensive place, charging us 90 baht (about $3 Cdn) for a broken drinking glass was chintzy and left us grumbling on our way out, rather than singing the hotel’s praises. A coupe we were travelling with were charged twice that for a broken wine glass. Now I’m not saying the hotel doesn’t have a right to charge customers for broken items, but it’s not like we trashed the room. That 90 baht downgraded my 5 star review to 4 and I’ve spent nearly as much time writing about that than all of the positives listed above. My take is that charging customers for incidental breakage of small items is cheap.

Beautiful hotel, fantastic breakfast, great location, lovely people. I would definitely stay there again. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and very clean. The pool in the atrium is delightful to het refreshed after a walk around town on a hot day. The breakfast is a la cart, but the portions are big and the dashes are very tasty. The staff is very kind and helpful.

We were staying two nights in this hotel and the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The bathroom sink in our first room had water leakage problem and the have transfer us to another room on forth floor, which is the highest level of the hotel. You can listen to the rain sound as the building material is so poor in this hotel. Our room is next to their private room, where they store all their amenities and cleansing material. You can keep hearing the sound of opening and closing door of their private room in the morning. Not a thing you would like to have while you are in vacation. You only have 4 bottles of free water per day and I was sick, had to drink a lot of water, so request for more. They said extra bottle of water is 200 baht. No I’m room service menu and no bar downstairs. Would not recommend this hotel for sure unless you would like to have a bad travel experience :(

Great location. In the middle of old town and all attractions are walking distances. New cozy hotel. Nice breakfast. Lots of choices, e.g. English breakfast, Thai style, health choice like overnight oats, etc.. Hot coffee come with a biscuit.

My first 2 choices, ie Rachamankha Boutique Hotel and Tamarind Village were full so I was relieved to get the last room available at the newly opened Burirattana close by. For a 3 night stay costing around $1000 USD I figured I could expect similar comfort and service. Mistake #1. The room was a triple which meant an extra (extremely hard) bed and the offer of 3 breakfasts rather than 1. The décor - the ubiquitous grey/black/taupe palette throughout the hotel was continued in the room. Possibly the most soulless hotel room Ive ever stayed in and I travel a lot. No pictures, no flowers, no fruit. Nowhere comfortable to sit. A desk without stationary, hotel information, or local information. eg restaurants There is a breakfast cafe but no Dining Room or Room Service You expect sachets of Nescafe and Coffee Mate in a cheap motel but not in a hotel of this calibre. Some weird dried coconut in a gauze bag was, I think, supposed to be a teabag. I asked for a normal teabag. They didn’t have any and where was the coffee machine? Bathroom toiletries basic and very poor quality. Undersized bath towels - no face towels I went to the pool and asked for a towel. After an hour, no-one had appeared so I left I would have given this place a worse rating had it not been for the staff who were charming and as helpful as they could be under the circumstances. The language barrier was a very evident problem Mistake #2 was that I should have cut my losses and moved out. I could not possibly recommend this place.

My family and I were really satisfied at the hotel and the room design. Since we went there on 1st Feb, there were almost full occupied!! The staff were accommodating and eager to help. It was pity that we only stayed there for 1 night since we made a reservation within 1 week before going there. Will definitely come again!

I visited the hotel earlier last year when it was not yet complete & was very lucky to be shown through before it was open to the public. I am regularly in CM for work & on my last visit I popped in to see the completed hotel and was met by staff who greeted me warmly & even remembered my name. They were so lovely & I was advised on the current promotion & right there & then booked a room for a week. I was offered several types of rooms but remembering me they offered me a lovely large king size room on the 2nd or 3rd floor with a huge balcony & city views. It was perfect & quiet. I arrived about lunch because the Walking market on Sundays closes the main street and is a must for anyone visiting CM for the first time. I was so happy to be back & smell the great street food vendors & my accommodation was excellent & the staff were really great from the Manager to the wait staff & breakfast was so delicious & beautifully presented. I would like to especially mention Bee at Front of House she was fantastic. I will stay here again.

A resort within the city! On recommendation from a friend, I checked in for a 6 night stay and I had no regrets. Corner Room (deluxe room 316 with bathtub) was excellent - clean, well designed, thoughtful touches such. The bed was extremely comfortable. My room faced the street, there is some traffic noise but I did not mind at all. The staff are sincere, attentive and polite, both the room service and the reception. Twice I ordered Grab Delivery food and the reception kindly brought the food up with cutlery and plates. I also got to enjoy the spa attached to the hotel (twice as the therapist Noi has amazing skill) which was very convenient. All in all, I was able to have a perfect restful vacation and would return. There are no English tv channels and hopefully the hotel will take note of that. Do not check in (or out.. if you have a lot of luggage) on a Sunday evening as the road closes for the Walking market. It is quite a wonderful experience to be in the center of it.
