Stayed a couple of nights here, average hotel, decent size clean room but smelled slightly mouldy, maybe air con. Good location, near shops and markets. The breakfast was good, customer service was very good, staff helpful. Didn't get a chance to go in the pool but looked clean enough. Over all I would stay there again.

Do not be deceived by the lobby/reception area. Hotel room was smelly and damp, not too clean either. The pool was also dirty and the breakfast was poor. I've stayed in overcrowded hostels better than this!

Decent location in city centre. Breakfast adequate, Tiny swimming pool but somewhere to sit outside for a while if time permits. Room a decent size but on ground floor so no view from window. Furniture and bathroom old and tired, hotel needs a good makeover.

We struggled to find accommodation in Chiang Mai so when a room in this hotel popped up we quickly booked for the location then later found out it was the lantern festival celebrations in town. We booked for a week although wanted to stay in Chiang Mai for 3 weeks and thankfully we did as even one night is too long in this hotel. I’ve travelled Sth East Asia for over 15 years and always stay in the mid-price range so have seen my fair share of average hotels but this is by far the worst. The room we had, 511, was appalling and cleaning practically non existent. Make sure you check the photos here carefully to see the real hotel. The photos on agoda and others we saw must have been taken 20+ years ago. We asked the front desk to have the bathroom scrubbed properly which took the standard from unusable to below average. The pool was green and murky with missing tiles. The lift had wet carpets and smelt like damp mould. The floors were so dirty it left our feet black so had to wear shoes in the room always. Wi-Fi also terrible. Do not stay here not even for the location.

Agoda promised me a bathtub but I only got a shower. The bathroom and bed were dirty, so was the cushion on the stool! I only booked for 1 night, otherwise I would have left. You can clearly see dead insects everywhere and stains on the sink, towel and stool cushion.

I recently returned from a two week trip around Thailand. In Chiang Mai I booked the BP Chiang Mai City Hotel. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but it was an absolutely fantiastic deal for the price I paid: 700 baht with breakfast for 2. It is an older hotel set away from the backpacker district of the old city. I really enjoyed my stay here. The bathroom was clean, the beds were comfortable and the service was excellent. It is not a five star hotel, but for the price it was just right. I liked that it was a bit further away from the bars and nightlife. It was a great place to return to after the Night Bazaar. There were always tuk tuk and taxis ready to take you anywhere you needed to go. I would definitely stay at the BP when I return to Chiang Mai.

The rather glamorous facade hides a shabby interior with dirty, musty rooms in desperate need of refurbishment. The rooms are over-priced, I paid (per night) 1,500 B plus 400 B supplemental change. I have stayed in several hotels which were far cleaner, positively palatial compared to this one for much less money. In addition the smoking and non-smoking rooms are swapped, so even though there is a non-smoking sign on the door, the room may have been used by smokers. If you are a non-smoker like myself, the smell of stale cigarettes hits you instantly. The bathroom was also full of mold and dirty. I would never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend friends, relatives or associates stay here either. This hotel needs a serious makeover, shabby, faded, stained decor and poor customer service would mean I rate this hotel as POOR.

Chiang Mai is a lovely city, especially between the walls of the old town, HOWEVER, this hotel is a total disgrace. Even though it's location is good - relatively quiet road, but on the other hand, no restaurants, no Seven-Eleven in the bear area. The hotel itself is an old tore down establishment. We booked 2 rooms for 5 nights and had to check out after only 1 night. The rooms were moldy and stinky. Not clean at all. The was no air condition in the corridors and it was like a sauna to walk in or out of the room. The swimming pool is no more than a small bath size pond. Breakfast was dull and food not tasty at all (how can one ruin a simple omelet?????) For the price we paid for that night, we got renovated rooms at the Montri Hotel near Thape gate. Very nice hotel and the area itself is so much better. Beware of BP hotel!!!!!

Room was clean, furnishings old, TV worked sometimes, water not hot but fixed after referral. Food in the restaurant (Thai & non-Thai) inedible, coffee undrinkable. No tea/coffee making facility in room. Too far from shops/ markets etc.
Will not be visiting this establishment again.

The hotel is centrally located with in Chiang Mai, and is around a 10 min journey from the airport via taxi. Although the hotel wasn't expensive it was VERY out dated and some what unclean. Although the bedding was perfect the room was very dusty, and the bathroom a little grim.

The major benefit of this hotel was a free shuttle bus to the night bizarre at 7pm, however this was one way only.
