This hotel is in a perfect location, walking distance from everywhere we needed to walk, from meeting our tour guides, to the night market and temples etc. This hotel has a lovely pool area and very spacious bedrooms and bathroom. Only downfall for us was the cleanliness, our room was dirty (floor, mirrors and units). This hotel came around to about £45 per night which for the price we could have stayed in cheaper and nicer hotels, but the location was perfect that’s why we choose this hotel.

We were in this hotel as part of a large group for a soccer tournament. The building looks as if it was once a fairly grand place, but it’s definitely in need of a refurbishment. Our room had a toilet that required multiple flushes every time, a lackluster air conditioner, and a sink that leaked water onto the floor. Other members from our group variously complained about poor air conditioning, uncomfortable mattresses, and toilet problems which they did not describe further for us. But suffice it to say that you should be prepared to be understanding. There were four elevators in the bank, but only three were in service during the whole week. Most of the time we would have to wait for at least a minute to a few minutes for an elevator, and often we would take the stairs, even going from the 12th floor to the 2rd floor for breakfast.
The morning breakfast was one of the better parts, featuring a wide variety of cut fruit, eggs, bacon, Muslim-friendly food, Asian food, toast, and a few pastries. The coffee machine was in near constant use and during peak hours, there was always a line for it. The tea was made in pots with a few tea bags, and most of the time it was pretty weak, especially for English people.
Dinners and a couple of banquets were included for our group. The food was adequate, but at least a couple of nights it was served nearly cold and on one night, all of the food was spicy enough that many people could not tolerate it. Desserts are also not that palatable to western palates, though the fruit was always nice.
There is a swimming pool and lounge chairs on the fourth floor that was pretty, but the water was chilly for swimming, even when the temperatures outside were quite warm.
The location of the hotel is probably the best part, being only a couple of blocks from rows of night markets, street food, and a few restaurants. There were also a grocery store, a pharmacy, Starbucks, and McDonalds within a five minute walk. Taxis went by frequently, so there was easy transportation wherever you need to go. The hotel also provides transportation to and from the airport for 150 BHT per person each way, but needs to be arranged ahead of time.

The hotel is very well located in close proximity to the bazaars, the river and other Old Town. A very large hotel which is somewhat dated. Rooms are very spacious and clean however the plumbing system needs attention as you can here the other room each time they use flushing and showers. The higher the floor the greater the view so take a room on the high floors. The internet is very erratic and one needs to keep logging in Pool in the afternoon as the best sun Water is supplied daily to the room

I visited Chiangmai with my husband and 4 month old daughter for a conference. We were well taken care of by the staff our baggage was handled carefully, I enjoyed the breakfast buffets and the cleaning crew always kept our room clean daily and provided clean sheets and towels. It was the best two weeks of my life. And also all the shops, food places, markets, laundry marts and banking facilities/cash exchange facilities were within walking distance so that was pretty convenient for me.

I'm not sure if I bagged a bargain, but I was staying in a massive suite on the 20th floor including the buffet breakfast for just over $50 Aussie per night. Location is exceptional being walking distance to the entertainment complex, night markets and old town. Every amenity is there including a huge pool, a gym, a grand ballroom, and even an outdoor function spot if you're having a huge shindig. Big tip is that reception is on the second floor in case you get there and can't figure out where you are meant to be (like I may have done...)

Upon appearance this hotel looks rather elegant and really quite charming and in a great location, close to local markets and bars and a good base for tours. The lobby is gorgeous and the lady checking us in was very informative and polite. The room we were given on the 18th floor. (1826) was huge and although dated was still very nice and with a great view of the city. The pool area is lovely too, but as you can imagine the bar prices were expensive. The good ended there. The lifts take far too long to come down. There is an express lift but is no faster. The wifi is very hit and miss. The beds were awful and were sleeping on concrete blocks. Had the worst night’s sleep for the 1st of 2 nights. 2nd night we actually slept quite well but mainly due to being so tired from the night before. The shower is nothing but a trickle, and there is a ledge on the floor in the doorway when entering the bathroom which is very easy to trip over, maybe get some yellow tape on it. Breakfast was mainly catered for asians, not many western options at all, and what was there was grim, we had breakfast included but didn’t bother the next day.
Over all it is good value for money and if they were to change the mattress I would stay again but the beds were just truly abysmal.

Good location with decent breakfast. But apart from that there is nothing really great about the hotel. The rooms could do with a renovation as they look very dated. Cleanliness of the rooms could be improved and the mattress needs to be changed as it was so hard, it was like sleeping on the floor. Would only stay here if I didn't have another option.

Great service from reception and concierge. The pool and gym are superb. The breakfast buffet would benefit from staff actually cooking, rather than being on their phones. The hotel should have 5 stars, but the insolent young man who finds it distasteful to actually cook bacon, loses one.

This is a really big hotel. Booked a “deluxe” room but was upgraded to a “business” room on floor 19. Took a long time to check in, at least 20 minutes, as many of us arrived at the same time after a flight from BKK. Be aware that they require a 2000 thb deposit upon check-in. This room had a king size bed, comfy but a little too firm. Great view looking south. Room had a desk, dressing table, old non-smart TV with just a few English channels, fridge and kettle, wardrobe with safe box, bathroom with separate tub and shower and a hair dryer. My only complaint about the room is that the AC unit is loud, even with the fan on the lowest setting. The swimming pool is very large and there was plenty of seating in shade and sun. There are several bars and restaurants within the hotel, along with spa, a travel agent, and several other shops. Large car park, but not suitable for larger vehicles. Staff were very professional. Location is perfect, 7-11 across the street and close to the night bazaar. Right on Loi Kroh Road with its many bars and massage shops. Can rent motorbikes directly across the street. For sure would return.

Looked impressive from the outset, but this was quickly displaced by the utterly surly nature of the receptionists. No greeting whatsoever and everything done at a snails pace.
Room was fine, although TV channel very limited. One day my water was not replaced. I phoned 3 times to reception over a 30 minute period before eventually they sent someone so I could make a cup of tea. Another day the shampoo and toiletries were not replenished.
Breakfast was simply awful. Very unappetising. Sausages were the obligatory hot dog tinned variety. Had to ask for eggs where the yoke was intact as they like to cremate their eggs. What passed for Bacon was cheap boiled ham swimming in hot water!!!
On my third day I was alerted to the fact that you had to ask for Bacon.
The pool was fine, although cold.

I never used a luggage locker at this hotel but the left luggage service was always attended and secure. I stayed there for a month this year and found them to be competent and helpful. They give you a luggage receipt which you need to exchange to retrieve your luggage.
