This is a 3 star standard hotel - OK for an overnight stay. Rooms are spacious but need redecorating. Fairly average breakfast. Taxi or tuk/tuk needed to get into the city centre but does not cost very much.

On the outside this hotel is pretty nice but on the inside this hotel is pretty crap. The staff look like they don't want to be here, they don't smile and the only time they speak English is when the want your money. There were bugs in my room even a lizard. The rooms are dirty, even the superior room...

Well, what is there more to say about this place. Mattress base is dirty, curtains full of stains, hardly anything in the room. It's outdated, ready for renovation, looks depressing, etc, etc.. Bathroom is old and moldy. Perhaps the only good thing is the location...

Staying close to the Night Market is nice, but still enjoying the music and the market rumour while in bed is certainly not very comfortable. The interior needs some improvement too. Everything looks a little outdated and the 80s model airco sounds like one of those 'tuk tuks'.

Really close to the night markets and night life. It is a budget hotel but staff and other guests were really friendly. The rooftop pool is clean and refreshing after a day temple visiting. Breakfast had a good selection of foods. It is in a big dining area so very relaxed.

Recommend ... Hotel actually quick old and I think the maintenance needed . Even the hotel quick old but it's quick clean and place located was really easy for us to shop at night market. The long and big night market just located Infront of the hotel.

The Royal lanta is not the best hotel in Chiang mai. However it is well priced and the location is awesome in between the two night markets. Our family of 5 had two rooms with an adjoining door which worked really well. The pool is good for a swim . My advice is pay the extra for a superior room...

Stopped here for 6 nights in May. Seemed decent enough, although we stopped in other hotels in Thailand that were about the same standard but cheaper. Very good location though, staff seemed very helpful and pool was nice after a day on your feet in the heat.

Having stayed here a few years ago, I was looking forward to a night here at the end of a business trip to Chiangmai - one overnight that would enable me to enjoy the great location and a relaxing room. Unfortunately, the general 'grubbiness' of the facilities were very disappointing ... particularly the grey bedsheets and the mould in the...
