Hotel is in a great location. A bit old-school rooms but clean and staff are nice. Restaurant is downstairs and offers live music at night sometimes (ask for schedule). Only 10 rooms available--would stay there again due to great location and nice rooms.

I almost wish I wasn't publishing this review as I'd love to keep this amazing hotel a secret. But that being said this spot is everything you want when visiting CM: quaint rooms full of local charm, amazing incredible staff (Tony, windy, and literally everyone else), central location to anything and everything (100% central to the old city, 15 mins... The hotel located on local market road that is popular one in Chiang Mai. It is decorated in boutique and modern style. The hotel is also located in the middle of downtown and easy to go any famous place.

Villa Duang Champa is a boutique hotel located almost exactly in the center of the Old City. It is on Ratchadamneon Road, which is known as "walking street". Every Sunday evening the street is blocked off and reserved for pedestrian traffic only. Hundreds of vendors set up kiosks in middle of the street selling food and a great variety of... More

An elegant old house that looks straight out of French colonial times. We stopped here around 530pm for a drink because the veranda is so pretty. Nice people, decent prices and OMG delicious house cocktails! We had a purple rain and a purple something else, delicious! A good place to stop by after a massage and a bit of shopping.

We really enjoyed the view of this openspace colonial restaurant (Also an hotel). The food was very cheap, the service was fine, live music in the back. I highly recommend this place to travellers. Easy to find in one of the biggest street for night market.

Thanks to Tony, Windy, elegant lady and all the staff for making our stay once more, a memorable one. Nothing is too much trouble. Fun and informative. If you want modern then go elsewhere. If you want quaint its here. Next to Sunday walking market and in middle of everything.

Laid back restaurant/bar with really creative Thai cocktails. Most of the drinks are made with lemongrass, kaffir lime, ginger and other classic Thai ingredients. I regret not taking a photo of the ingredients. I'm gonna miss drinking these - they are not things you'll find anywhere else. We also ate here and the food was phenomenal. Pad Thai and red... More

We stayed at Duang Champa on the top floor in the room facing the Sunday street market. Amazing location in the middle of the old city with a great view. They have a nice outdoor bar/restaurant downstairs that opens onto the street. We had breakfast there which was nice. Our room was clean and plush. I would definitely recommend this... More

We went three times to Villa Duang Champa during our stay in Chiang Mai. The two evenings we spent were wonderful thanks to the beautiful lively music and friendly professional service. The colonial building and atmosphere reminded me of old Havana; really lovely place in great location. We were impressed with the food on the first evening but quite disappointed... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This award-winning renovation of a colonial style building, in the centre of Chiang Mai, offers just 10 guestrooms and conjures up a peaceful, and rather aristocratic feel which is perfect for a laid-back getaway in this remarkable city. Taken from the name of Laos’ national flower, Villa Duang Champa , successful renovation into an elegant, four story luxury bed and breakfast was awarded by the Siam Architect , Association and its not hard to see why. The restoration pays attention to differences in each room’s design – each room is a triumph of tasteful, individual décor. Other delights include a winding staircase connecting the breakfast room to the second floor, a giant tree and lovely teatime table in the small garden, and the lighting; a mixture of contemporary and traditional approaches. Each room has large windows, which give plenty of natural light to highlight the room décor. Those who love colonial charm and minimalism will be in heaven here. The 10 bedrooms are spread between four bright floors, with views to the mountains. Inside you'll find comfy retro chairs, stylish daybeds, and old-fashioned lighting as well as interesting floor-tiles and individual pale colors on white color schemes. ... more   less
