Brief background for context. Traveling South East Asia as a couple (30 years old) on a budget of $100(US) per day ($700 per week) Irish and Canadian, accountants in the Caribbean in a previous time. Grew up as a scout so no stranger to back packing. Having traveled Thailand for a month at this point, can hand over heart state it was be best accommodation we had stayed in. Breakfast included (it was filling and healthy) Room was quiet and well air conditioned. Location wise you are just outside the old town maybe 5 minutes walk to get to south entrance with a night market right at this entrance. Staff below very helpful and can get you discounts on different tours and excursions. Will do all the booking for you. They threw in a free taxi to the airport at the end for booking the excursions through them ( Elephant sanctuary with out riding elephants and a cooking class are very much worth it) Sad to leave the place in the end. Also as we were back packing we needed laundry done. Place around the corner and he will bring it back up to the hotel once its ready.

A lovely boutique hotel in a tranquil spot, ideally situated just a short walk to the old town. The hotel staff are amazing and will help you with all your needs. I would definitely stop there again if I were to return to Chiang Mai.

This is lovely calming place to stay just 5 minutes from the south gate into the old town. Beautiful rooms with a big bed and very clean. The team are courteous and helpful, and available all hours. They can also arrange tours. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. Rooms are over 3 floors. There is no lift so ask for a room on the ground floor if you need it. Breakfast choices are eggs, sausages, cereal, toast, teas, coffees etc

We stayed here six nights over Christmas and the accommodation and staff were both first class! Our room was big and spotlessly clean, the bed was huge and the shower / bathroom was very nice. The whole hotel was in great condition, very peaceful and relaxing, especially at night. The people working there were welcoming, friendly and very helpful! We were sad to leave!

Tadkham Village is a tastefully constructed, 3-level budget lodging with pleasant accommodations and excellent service. We were able to stay for a week during tourist season for about $23 a day. Our king size bed was in a comfortable room with an immaculate bathroom and shower and a small sun room. The nicely designed interior courtyard has a small, fish-filled pool. Breakfast is served on a lawn fringed by verdant trees and shrubs. The staff is on hand 24 x 7, and responds instantly to any request. Just a five minute walk from the Chiang Mai Gate. There is a nightly food market there, and a major Saturday Night Walking Market. The breakfast is $5. It’s filling, but limited, basically a few variations on ham and eggs, plus cereal options, with coffee, tea, fruit juice, and fresh fruit. The hotel is just a 10-minute ride to the airport which is suprisingly close by. Probably best to take a tuk-tuk, cheaper than the 150 bhat ride the lodging arranges.

I stayed here for nights having travelled up from Bangkok. The staff are so helpful, welcoming and courteous. Couldn't be more helpful. The rooms are lovely and spotlessly clean. Location is great beside Chiang Mai gate. I would stay again without giving it a thought

The room is clean and I cannot find a speck of dust because they clean the room on a daily basis. The only concern is the smell of the toilet drainage. If the ventilation fan is off, the smell can flood the room. Quiet and serene environment. Service is awesome. The locals handling the front counter speak English or if not minimal English. They could even recommend places of interest and arrange transport if necessary. It is located not too far away from the south of the Old City gate. 10 minutes walk and you will reach the gate. Lots of food around the gate, you will not go famish. 7-11 is nearby too for snacks and water supply. There is also some 24-hours laundry services nearby and they are all walking distance. Will definitely return in future. Do note: No lift and no car park.

Tadkham is located just to the south of the old city so is close to the action but far enough out to feel secluded. The staff are helpful and friendly. This is not a luxury hotel and the amenities are basic, having said that the building is well designed and has an exclusive kind of feel and at around 20 pounds a night is good value for money. Makes a good base for discovering Chiang Mai

Great location just a few hundred meters near the southern part of the old city. We walked everywhere from here. We never imagined it could be so quiet and hidden in this part of town. Staff was the friendliest and very casual which gives lots of natural charm to this place. Rooms are huge and well maintained. No this is not a 5 star Spa resort but it is definitely what we love about Tadkham Village.
