This is one of the loveliest places I've stayed anywhere in Asia; the hotel itself is clean and well decorated, and the staff & management are very warm and welcoming.
There are lots of thoughtful little things that make a big difference; welcome drinks, early check-in, advice on public holidays, etc...

I stayed in the executive suite which was very spacious, nicely decorated and immaculately kept, and on arrival the bed had been decorated with rose petals and the towels folded into swans.
The breakfast was another highlight of the stay at La Storia Ruby; the coffee is amazing, as is the fresh fruit including passionfruit, dragon fruit and watermelon; they also do eggs and pancakes cooked to your liking (the banana pancake was the best).

I would highly recommend staying here, especially seeing as the Old Quarter is such a beautiful place as well, close to lots of museums, galleries and tourist spots. A walk down toward the lake will take you to Legends on the corner near the round-about, which is fantastic spot for some reasonably-priced German beer and some priceless traffic watching.

The La Storia Ruby Hotel located ideally in the heart of the old city in Hanoi became our base for our multiple comings and goings over many weeks whilst visiting other parts of Vietnam and Myanmar. The hotel itself was chosen because it is located in a quiet and narrow street where motor cars can’t go. Over the many weeks of coming and going we must have stayed in all of the different types of executive suites available in the hotel and our favorite rooms by far were 705 and 801. Note you have multiple types of rooms but the Junior suite with balcony (i.e. 705) and Executive suite (i.e. 801) are the quietest of all 👍

We especially want to make note of the very friendly and oh so helpful staff, who go out of their way to assist one and all.

Our delight was breakfast every morning, as apart from the buffet type display of Asian and Western food on offer, so too was there a separate menu for you to order your type of eggs, pancakes or beef/chicken noodle soup!

We would highly recommend this hotel for what it has to offer for those who like a little bit of quiet in a bustling city full of life!

The staff really made an effort to help us to ferry luggage from the main st (up the lane to the hotel) and booked and ferried us to a cab they had arranged. Especially great given we don't speak Vietnamese. We were welcomed with fresh juices and our room was readied even though we were early. The location is excellent to roam the Old Quarter, which is absolutely worth doing. We were also able to use the lounge area upstairs and the facilities to use as a base after we had checked out, as we were booked on an overnight train.

Location is fabulous - off a busy street so it’s quiet at night, but the street it’s on is hugely interesting in the morning and evening. However the fruit & vege sellers think “tourist”, so the prices they quoted seemed to be very high.

In a Junior suite with balcony, and that was really wonderful. Lots of space to move (stayed six nights so this was important), plus an extra bed which was useful as partner not very well so able to move about without disturbing each other. In Hanoi during a massive heatwave so balcony not used much, but we loved to lean over and watch the folk below in the cool of the morning. I did water the plants though, poor things.

Those of you who like to wash clothing as you go along, the hangers are great for shorts and everything dries beautifully overnight in the bathroom. Bathroom a very nice size.

Staff were great, always friendly and a happy welcome when we turned up looking wrecked at the end of each day. If you can get breakfast included, it’s worthwhile. We didn’t but tried it once to see how good it was. Eating area very small but plenty to eat and nice quality.

Very good value too.

The room was really clean and tidy, it had everything by we needed for a three night stay. The staff were great at providing tour information and recommendations for restaurants, cafes, sights to see etc.
The breakfasts catered for both cooked and continental options and we certainly didn't go hungry!
The hotel is central to so much of what you need; there is a very authentic food market in the lane each day, you're a short stroll to the night markets, lots of banks etc in the area.
The hotel is a brilliant mid-budget option.

This hotel is situated in a great location in the middle of the Old Quarter, mere steps away from lots of restaurants. I was able to walk to all the places I wanted to go in Hanoi.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They helped me book transport to and from the airport and a Ha Long Bay cruise, all for a competitive price (based on my research).

My reservation included breakfast, which was very good. They have a good selection of fresh fruits, and there's a chef who cooks eggs, pho, and pancakes to order. I especially recommend the pancake with mango!

The room was a bit worn down, but it was clean. There was also some kind of wall that obstructed the natural sunlight from the window. But these are minor gripes, and the value for money was excellent. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Hanoi.

We highly recommend this place to stay in Hanoi. We spent 4 weeks in Vietnam in Jan/Feb, and stayed in several hotels. We stayed here for 18 days and it was the best decision we made. Of the 5 hotels we stayed in, this was definitely the best. Jack and his staff are so helpful and friendly, it is like staying with family rather than in an impersonal place. Even the lovely cleaners made us feel welcome and part of the family. The breakfast team are brilliant, and we loved the banana pancakes. It is a great place to stay and a good location for walking around Hanoi. Again I have to say Jack and his team could not be more helpful, and if you are wondering about finding a place to stay in Hanoi, it would be hard to recommend anywhere else (maybe the Metropole if you have a few thousand $ to spend) that is as clean, friendly, comfortable and quiet as La Storia.

This hotel is situated in a great location in the middle of the Old Quarter, only a couple of steps away from lots of restaurants.
We was able to walk to all the places I wanted to go in Hanoi. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They helped us book transport from the airport.

Our reservation included breakfast, which was good. There is a chef who cooks eggs and pancakes to order. I would recommend the pancakes!

They are not very quick at replacing items that need topping up eg drinks, butter & fruit etc

The room was a bit worn and the tv did not work, so slightly disappointing but the room was perfectly fine.

I didn’t like that whilst checking out we were asked to review the hotel and we gave an 8 out of 10 which we believed was fair. However we were asked to change it. Which then is not a real reflection on the hotel.

Feedback will only help, but instead they choice to ignore suggestions or ideas and ask us to change it.

After running out of a dreadful hotel nearby, we tried this one. The staff were more than helpful, showing us the room before we accepted it. Everything was clean and what you would expect from a good hotel. The ever-smiling staff helped us choose and book a delightful day trip and managed taxis. Breakfast was excellent with cheerful cooks happy to to prepare fresh things from the menu.
Highly recommended.

Stayed at this hotel for a few days, and absolutely loved it. The staff here - especially Jenny who was so helpful in planning multiple tour booking and getting the best rate, Jesssica and Anna, loved the hospitality and helpfulness that at this place. I was going on Halong Bay cruise and they ensured I could keep my suitcase safely at their hotel and travel with less stuff to the cruise, they go beyond and not wait for customer to mention things- like I was leaving early morning to Sapa and they ensured there's takeaway breakfast pre booked. Amazing people, warm place.
Just a note, few rooms on lower floors might seem small to people who are used to spacious rooms, please book their Junior or Executive suites in that case.

Yes. We landed around 1am as well and arranged the airport transfer through the hotel ($20). Best option since it was very late. There is staff at the front desk 24/7 so someone will greet you and check you in. Have fun!
