The hotel has a great history and feels very luxurious. It is an easy walk to most of the imporotant areas to visit in Hanoi. We took a cyclo tour to Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum etc. Eating in the hotel is not cheap, but we had a superb 'degustation' menu at 'Spices Garden' in the hotel - the next night...

What can I say about this hotel other than, stop thinking about booking, just do it! We where picked up for the airport which we arranged on forehand. what a great way to start our trip to Vietnam. it started with Macarons in the car, this must be a sign for what a great stay we are going to have....

We stayed in this hotel for two nights arranged by Amawaterways, the river cruise company. It`s a five star hotel in the old French quarter and possibly the best in Hanoi. Recent visitors included the Irish President and a member of the Royal Family. It certainly lives up to its name and was faultless in every respect. The grounds to...

I would say the sofitel metropole is the one and only hotel that you shall stay in Hanoi. The decor of the hotel is very very nice. The service is superb. The guest room is quite modern, not my style though but it's fine. The swimming pool is lovely. The food at the Vietnamese restaurant is very nice. Breakfast is...

Enjoyed that we could easily walk to Hoan Kiem Lake and the old city from this hotel. Comfortable, clean, good service. We stayed in the newer section and if we visited again would ask for the older area which has a lot of character. Small but beautiful pool area and restaurant with very accommodating and friendly staff.

The HM is a great hotel! It has lots to offer. Great rooms, friendly staff, and wonderful consierge service. They helped us set up the water puppet show, a Ha Long bay tour, and recommended several great restaurants. The room was well appointed, we never saw the service people, and comfortable. The toilet is a little ackwardly placed, but you...

A city centre deluxe hotel with a stunning pool area, several different style restaurants. Live music in the bar/ restaurant. Buffet breakfast plentiful and excellent. We particularly liked the SPice Graden restaurant but it is pricey.

First stop on tour of Vietnam and it truly is an oasis in a city teeming with motorbikes and people. Room was in old section and incredibly elegant and roomy. Food and bar service hard to beat and location central for touring.

We fell in love with Vietnam and stayed at many lovely hotels during our two-week stay there, but the Metropole is by far our favorite! It combines historic elegance with warm, personal service; a comfortable room with Asian decor and modern amenities; an excellent (and pricey) Vietnam Restaurant across the courtyard; and a spectacular daily breakfast buffet with both Asian...
