This two star hotel is very mediocre and weird. It was ideal for our purpose though. For $20 we had a room to shower and rest before our overnight train to Sapa, I would not recommend for a overnight stay. It is a one minute walk to the Mercury Hotel which had a pretty good Western restaurant.

Come back from Sapa at 4.30am and only leaving for halong bay at 8am. So need to kill a few hours and catch up some sleep. The tour agent recommended this hotel as a stop because it is very near the Train Station. The place is horrible. As horrible as you can imagine. The thing is, it is not cheap...

The Mango hotel served its purpose, it is not nice, actually it's terrible, but in a handy location next to the train station to wait for the train to Sapa. We arrived in Hanoi at approximately 4pm and had a pre-booked transfer to the Mango hotel to wait for our train leaving at 9pm. The hotel is owned by the...

Mango hotel is a hotel with its own private entrance to the railway station. It operates with Ratraco Trains. This hotel is more like a resting place before the 8hrs train ride. Its very basic. Reception could not speak much English. There was a point where the reception received a call, an english lady was on the line, since I...

Ethnic Travel sold me this disappointing $18 add-on that I had bought pre-trip prior to taking a Ha Long Bay cruise. Ethnic Travel suggested that I take a hotel room with breakfast for a few hours to bide my time between them picking me up in the a.m. and the 5 a.m. arrival of my overnight bus from the north....

(I just finished traveling around Indonesia and Vietnam for two and a half weeks with extended family consisting of 26 people - 13 adults and 13 kids, including my 4 month old) I love reading the reviews here - others have come face to face with this institution called Mango Hotel. =) During my travels I sometimes encounter hotels that...

The room smelt old and like mold although it seemed to be generally clean. Furniture was old and the matress very thin. The Staff was not very friendly. Breakfast was omelette vor soup, coffee and butter for bread had to be paid extra. Although the Hotel is next to the Train station, it was surprisingly quiet during the night.

We booked the room to just take a shower and leave the luggage before the trip to Sapa. However we found this already to be adventurous - I wouldn't recommend to shower without shoes since there were fungi on the walls, I don't know how one can sleep there. Also the train to Sapa leaves on the other side of...

First night in Hanoí, after long trip my only idea was rest and wake up late. They gave me the room 315 on the train station side, no train at all but they are doing works in a wall, so around 7 am started terrible noise. The stuff were rude on the night, they even came to room or floor...

Location: Chose this hotel due its location after a long overnight train from Sapa and before my next flight. Just wanted a place for hot shower and quick nap. Price: Cheap and you get what you paid for. Building: Old and outdated. Room: Noisy due to train station. Big but smelly and mouldy. You can see the damp everywhere. Lack...
