We have been in Vietnam/Cambodia for 19 days, most of which was spent on a pre/post cruise and cruise with AMA Waterways, but we arrived a day early and stayed a day later. We are traveling with our adult age son, but we are his guardians. We stayed at 5 star Sofitels in Ho Chi Minh City, Siem
Reap and Hanoi with AMA, but we always had to get two rooms, since there are 3 of us.. We looked for cheaper options when we were on our own. The Hanoi Pearls offers a good triple option. The hotel is nicely located in the Old Quarter, and you should probably expect busy street noise in the morning - the rest of the time it was quiet. The room itself is similar n quality to a Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn, Hilton Garden Inn in the US. The linens are fine. The lobby area is Asian opulent and makes a good impression. The check-in was personalized, and took about 15 minutes. The staff was extremely courteous and gracious and compared favorably with the treatment we received at the Sofitels, which was excellent.. It was convenient to eat dinner at the Candles restaurant in the hotel and the pho was in the upper half of all the phos I had while in Vietnam (probably 8-10 different restaurants ranging from $2 to $15. The "American" dishes were actually better than most that we had during our trip (fired fish, fried calamari, and wienerschnitzel).

Hidden in a quiet alley, the Pearl Hotel runs away from the hustle and bustle of the old quarter and yet is close to the Hoan Kiem Ho, Ha Noi Opera House ,St. Joseph's Cathedral and 36 old streets. All within the walking distance!
The staff are plite and willing to help whenever you request.
The room is spacious and the bed is so comfortable that you can have a nice dream and don`t have to wake up with a sore back.
The chef of the Candles restaurant presents great La Carte dishes with reasonable prices.
The most wonderful thing is that at the midnight of the Lunar Eve they held a firework show party at the Pearl Lounge. You can see the fabulous Hoan Kiem Ho firework show just right in front of you! It's a scene that you will never forget.

Myself and my husband started our honeymoon in Vietnam in Hanoi and stayed here for 2 nights. This is a lovely hotel in a great location in Hanoi. It’s near the lake and busy district but at the same time the street it’s on is relatively quiet. Our room was really lovely with a great en suite and everything was super clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and arranged our pickup from the airport for us and welcomed us very warmly with a welcome drink and refreshing towel. The breakfast wasn’t of the highest standard but was perfectly adequate all the same. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Hanoi Pearl is at an excellent location, along a side road, so it is not too noisy. But it is within a couple of minutes walk from the shops, cafes, restaurants around Old Quarters, as well as the lake. Staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Jimmy Nguyen at the front desk , and they speak good English.

Because it is a relatively big hotel, buffet breakfast is good and has variety. The rooms and overall hotel is quite dated n perhaps need an overhaul of its tiles and furniture to get them modern. I would recommend this hotel to all travellers.

🇺🇸 Our stay at Hanoi Pearl Hotel was great! The staff was helpful and friendly. We especially noticed jennie. We fell in love with jennie from the first second, she gave us great support and we felt that we were in good hands. The hotel is very clean, all appliances worked, the bed was comfortable and toiletries were provided. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. The location is perfect, you can reach the lake and the old town in a few minutes on foot. We highly recommend this hotel. If we come back to Hanoi, we will come back to this hotel!

We stayed here for six nights, punctuated by an overnight trip to Halong Bay.

Hard to think of a negative thing to say about our experience at this hotel.

Pros: Location Location Location! Walking distance to everything within the Old Quarter. Nicely appointed rooms (Deluxe City View), excellent staff who were very helpful and friendly with an attention to detail, happy hour cocktails at the rooftop bar! Buffet breakfast was good with just enough items changed each day to keep it interesting. Did I mention the happy hour cocktails?

Negatives: If I had to name one it would be that the breakfast dining room is too small. When large tour groups stay it is very difficult to get a table. Also they stop refreshing the dishes in the last half hour of breakfast, so if you happen to come later you do not get to experience the full buffet.

We would definitely stay here again when we come back to Hanoi.

This hotel is very central and comfortable - The breakfasts in Asia are all same same.
It is very centrally situated in Area 1 and is in walking distance of just about everything.
The staff were very accommodating with requests, but you were "booted" out of the breakfast room at 10h00 sharp - lights switched off and tables cleared around you!

The rooms are wonderful. The staff incredibly helpful. All in all a perfect stay in Hanoi. Also they have a great happy hour on their rooftop bar. The bartender makes really good Mai Tais and they even made us fresh ginger tea. I can't recommend this place more. The rooms are very quiet and we'll air-conditioned.
