Stayed here for around five nights in Hanoi. It made a great base to explore areas such as Sapa and Halong Bay from, particularly if you wanted to travel light to these areas the staff were happy to let you leave your bags in the hotel. It made these trips a much more enjoyable time not lugging around masses of... More

The hotel itself is fine, okay rooms and facilities - however if you have trouble walking up and down stairs I would recommend staying else where as there is no lift. Unfortunately we were scammed by the owner of this place - as she organised a bus for us to Ha Long City for 200,000 vnd each. The bus was... More

We paid $19.95CAD for a room with a queen bed. The staff was awesome, so kinda and grateful and we felt safe but we arrived after a long bus ride at 530am and had to wait for our room until 1pm so we were absolutely exhausted while walking around all morning. And the room was slightly dirty just some small... More

Very good value for money! Situated in the centre of the old quarter so easy access to everything around! The rooms are clean and spacious. Only downfall was the air con wasn't very strong, we still returned here twice on our trip and would definitely return again!

First off, the location is amazing. Slap-bang in the centre of the Old Quarter, and within walking distance of a decent amount of touristy sites, you can't fault this place for sheer convenience. Second, book the airport transfer with them, both ways I got a better-than-average saloon car and chatty driver and I'm certain the cost was cheaper than many... More

This is a small family run hotel though it's operated more like a guest house. It was clean enough for the price. There was hot water in the sink but not from the shower for some reason. There was a cockroach in the bathroom but it was already dead so no big deal. The biggest negative was the beds, they... More

We stayed for three nights at the Discovery Hotel and wouldn't go back. Location-wise the hotel is fine, although the dark alley you have to walk up isn't ideal and there were bars on 'Bia Street' playing loud music until around midnight - it was impossible to sleep while this was on. We had the most basic private room and... More

In the heart of the old quarter in Hanoi, Discovery is a great economic hotel. With simple rooms including a.c., t.v. and a fair sized bathroom we were happy to spend a couple nights here. With being roomed on the fourth floor, the elevator was a welcomed luxury too. The owner is quite friendly and helpful. Since the hotel is... More
