We are retired fit canadians and have stayed here every time we have passed through HCM in the past 10 years and will continue to do so in all our future trips to Vietnam. Exploring HCM is best done by foot and Le Blanc Saigon is well placed to visit all the sites of the city. Around 20 min. away from district 1 by foot you are off the beaten track so surrounded by locals and not fellow tourists. You will see local shops and restaurants, corner stores and markets surrounded by the wonderfully normal chaotic day and night life in this safe vietnamese neighbourhood.
It has ALL we need to enjoy our stay in HCM is very affordable and very good value for the asking price: clean room, comfortable bed, light blocking curtains, safe in room, fridge, kettle, good water pressure (hot and cold), good wifi, filtered water at reception, emergency # if needed, 24 hr staff on premises, front locking hotel door, lovely homecooked vietnamese breakfast (or eggs and bread if requested) AND a wonderfully helpful English speaking manager during normal office hours to help sort out any requests, plan the next leg of your journey and to help make your stay as wonderful as possible!
What can you ask for more from an affordable small budget hotel?
Thank you so much M. Thinh, Mrs Nam and Chau for making our stay memorable!
See you next time!

Absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel is down a quiet lane in quite a local area but still walkable to some attractions, even walking street is close if you take all the short cuts down the laneways. Room was basic but nice and comfortable. Room has a good safe and fridge. The young girl on reception is very nice and helpful. You get a choice of western or Vietnamese breakfast each morning, both very good. If you are looking for an hotel in an authentic area away from all the tourist hotels, then this is the place. I would stay here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our trip and then 3 nights at the end. The hotel is in a great little hem in District 3 - totally away from the tourist areas, and totally local! There are actually 2 hotels across the lane from each other, and we stayed in both. Good size rooms with nice comfy beds, good aircon, decent bathrooms. Rooms have a bar fridege and safe. Step outside, and you're immediately immersed in local life.

Stayed 3 nights at this simple no frills hotel in a non touristy area on border of district 1 and 3. Located down an alley off a busy road there are 2 buildings. I had the standard 'scandinavian' room. Spacious by local standard with lots of natural light from large windows. Fridge , hot water kettle, good AC and comfortable bed. Fairly quiet

Bathroom could have been cleaner but was ok.

Old lady at reception spoke no english. No breakfast available but lots of good food options locally including an excellent vegetarian restaurant.

LeBlanc is impeccably clean, but what made the visit was the staff who are extremely generous and considerate. Everyone went out of their ways to accommodate my partner and I when we arrived two days late due to plane delays. Additionally, when I had a stomach virus, they offered to take me to the clinic to translate without any hesitation.

I would recommend LeBlanc to anyone traveling and looking for a quiet stay. Because it is such an intimate space, it is not somewhere you can walk in and out of without having contact, and it is not a place where you can make a lot of ruckus in the room without being noticed. It's a very hands-on business in the best way possible. This is NOT the place for party-goers.

I really do try to do my upmost to be as straight and honest as possible when I write my reviews on Trip Advisor and unless my own personal issues are in someway effected by the place itself or the staff when I visit somewhere, I do my upmost to provide candid and helpful advice, not decided on how I am feeling about the city or day I am having in general but rather attempt base it all about the same kind of info that I that I look out for when reading what other folk talking about their own experiences have said.
So to start with I shall say that in all truth, when we arrived, the staff really were charming and helpful, with us checking in nearly a full three hours earlier than we had originally planned and on entering our room, it was immediately noticeable that it was clean, modern and a decent size, especially for the price that we had paid for the place. The amenities were all present as advertised, good sized TV, solid air-con, fridge and a clean and decent bathroom all greeted myself and partner as we entered.
Now, we had only booked 2 nights as we are currently living in HCMC and needed a go-between for a longer term apartment that we had already sorted out and this was on the same street and easy to commute to our workplaces in the meantime. The hotel itself wasn't difficult to find if you are used to the way some of the off-street alleyways and gunnels can be, but could probably use a signpost to make it a tad easier to discover, but really that is really a small quibble and other than that, the hotel was everything that we had hoped, it also included a decent breakfast in the price and at this, it kind of would have been the end of my review for LeBlanc Saigon.
However...
On the 2nd night staying here, while walking further back down the street with my other half, we had obviously become just a little too secure in our own travels about the city and while crossing between 2 buildings a scooter came out of nowhere and snatched my other half's bag from her. We are not daft and we we know this can happen, and the bag was firmly attached across the front of her body, not swinging away by her side to tempt such bast...ahem, robbers... But still, in a split second they were away with it and we were left standing there upset and furious at both them and ourselves for allowing it to happen in a moment of carelessness.
We were only a minute or two away when this from LaBlanc when it happened so on returning the staff really stepped up and helped us. From helping my shaken missus with a seat and a cool drink to steady herself, to then calling the owner who arrived only minutes later to dutifully take us to the local police station and provide help and translation to the officers who I am sure would not have been half as useful if he hadn't of been there to assist us in the way that he did. Bravo guys seriously! We had gone from the very dark and nasty side that Vietnam has to offer to the genuine decency that so many of the other people here have to show in the space of an hour. We cannot thank you enough and you made what was a horrible moment here so much more bearable with your assistance and friendliness, especially as we are just passing through your halls on the way to somewhere else.
The hotel was honestly a very decent place to stay before any of the nastiness, but your comfort and help makes you a gem and I hope that people realise as they search through TA looking for a place to stay in Saigon that such quality cannot easily have a price put upon it. So if you want to stay somewhere slightly out of district 1 (but within an easy 10 min walk) you really could do far worse than staying with such a decent bunch looking after you. Thanks again.

The hotel is basic but clean and comfortable, with really friendly staff. The rooms are wider and the breakfast area much nicer than many of the hotels you can find in the packed alleys of Pham Ngu Lao. It's only a 20 minute walking distance from the Reunification Palace. Definitely a good deal.

District 3, only a few steps down an alley off the main road (quieter, mellower.) 15 minute walk to Ben Thanh tourist areas. Or very quick, cheap taxi ride (use Vinasun or Mahlin.) Great food choices in neighborhood; authentic covered market 100 meters away.

Breakfast was prepared on order, let them know if you want western style or Vietnamese. They kindly served vegetarian on request.

The rooms are very clean and the best hot water supply I have experienced.

The staff does everything they can to help you and accommodate your needs.

They clean and fold your laundry for a reasonable fee.

You can't compare guesthouses to $150-$350USD/night 5 Star Hotels; but you get more than what you pay for staying here.

No elevator. I need the exercise. :-)

The biggest difference to other guesthouses is the staff's helpfulness and attitudes. All of the staff. Good enough English, too.

Relative to other guesthouses I have stayed in SE Asia, LeBlanc is great.

The hotel is located outside the tourist zone and that we really liked. Local food and completely domestic life on the streets around. The room was correct and the staff very helpful, but not so effective. Probably because of youth and inexperience, but I'm sure they will be excellent soon. Breakfast was solid.
