I visit Saigon once a year and as usual, I chose Victory Hotel for my stay in Saigon. However, this stay turned out to be a completely unpleasant experience. The shower was extremely weak. There were no bath robes coming along with the room. Additionally, when I went down and asked for a robe, the male receptionist was unacceptably skeptical(?)....

Booked a room to share with my girlfriend online through a booking agent, was told on checking in not if you cannot prove you are married you cannot share a room. I have stayed in Vietnam many times with my girlfriend and never had a problem. Now as the room was paid for3 nights I have to try and get...

Easy walk into District 1, close to supermarkets and places to eat. Staff responsive and there is a good buffet breakfast. However, you have to pay each time you use the pool, which is small and not that sparkly clean. Room air conditioning noisy and dropped water endlessly. Don't bother paying for the balcony as far too small and very...

This was our last hotel on our Intrepid Tour. Check in was handled by our tour guide. Lobby is spacious, but does not have comfortable chairs to sit in. There are some very ornate carved wooden seats. Our room was tiny, hidden somewhere in a warren of corridors. The good thing is we were away from the main road, overlooking a...

This hotel is owned by the government and it shows. Every time you want to use the pool you have to get a ticket from the business office! The pool attendants are very officious about what is allowed. I pity the public which has to pay 60k for a pretty ordinary pool. The rooms are very dated, but clean and...

This was the worst hotel we stayed at in Vietnam. Our room furnishings were old but worst of all it smelt badly of cigarette smoke and I woke few times during the night feeling sick with the smell. There were also cigarette burns over the carpet even though the hotel was no smoking. The bed mattresses were hard and the...

I've just read the other review, interesting. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a tiny balcony. Everything in the room worked. Was a little tired but very clean. The mattress was really really hard but we slept really well. We didn't use the pool but our friends did, they weren't charged but they did have swimming lessons...

I booked a 26 sq metre room only to be given 20 sq metres. The following night was given an upgrade but it turned out to be only slightly bigger. The information on booking websites is incorrect and the hotel needs to measure the rooms properly and be honest about what they are offering. Breakfast was sub-standard quality. Rooms are...

We were offered an upgrade but the room was very kitsch. The normal room with twin beds that we had booked on booking, was fairly nice but had a bit of a strange smell. The location is great, right next to the war museum. the cruise ship music was extremely loud and annoying (the speakers were right outside our room...
