Breakfast was busy and stressful and not that great quality. When we got to the hotel we had to pay a deposit and we were informed that if we brought durian or jackfruit into the room we would be fined £60! I understand why but it all seemed very rule driven and not very customer focussed, the staff also weren’t that friendly compared to other places we have stayed in Vietnam. The one in Danang is much better!

staff were friendly, prompt and helpful. always helping to open doors/carry luggage, making sure that the guests are enjoying their food/stay/etc. they recommended me a few good food & shopping places. breakfast buffet was good and they had a pretty wide variety of food (pho, fried rice/fried noodles, vegetable & meat dishes, salad & fruit bars, pastries & breads, and eggs! fyi eggs to be requested from the kitchen staff) and the housekeeping services were top notch too! room & toilet was always v clean and towels/sheets were changed regularly. overall had an absolutely great stay :-)

The Sanouva was a perfect choice and I can only highly recommend it. I was in doubt as so many factors to take into consideration in Saigon but everything lived up to my expectations and even much more. The hotel is located few meters from the main market. Important sights as Independence Palace, post office and many good restaurants are in walking distance. The room was very pleasant and had 2 windows which is not necessarily a standard in Saigon. The bathroom was big with a nice large walk-in shower. Safety deposit box and fridge. Quiet at night and no problem sleeping at all. Wifi and A/C working without any issues. The staff was all very helpful and most kind to assist in any matter. Breakfast was an excellent spread with tasty Vietnamese coffee. My hotel package included a pick-up by hotel driver at the airport which is an excellent idea as arriving at the airport can seem rather overwhelming with lots of people, cars and noises. Not to mention the difficulties for a tourist understanding the local currency.

It's a simple unfussy option close to Thanh market. They have a number of tours that come to hotel and nearby.

The room was small for us we had booked for 3 people and they put us into a 2 person room. They have very small supplies for the rooms like soap and glasses and they don't offer much when they refresh the rooms.

However I will say that the hotel is clean, the service staff is very good and the lift and hot water work well. I would recommend this since it's close by to most things that you would come to the city if you're visiting as a tourist.

This hotel was ideally located within district 1 and walking distance for a good Many sites and attractions, with easy cost effective transport for trips further away.
The hotel was clean, well maintained, with a good bed and shower, breakfast was good and value for money I had everything i needed for a comfortable stay.
Every member of staff was excellent very professional, polite and most helpful. There are too many names to remember but special mention for Huynh Khoi, and Son, Trang who I interacted with daily they went out of their way to help me and make my stay a good one.
I would definitely stop at this hotel again. Thank you for your hospitality.
Regards
Mark

Check in painful. Had requested early check in as arriving by sleeper train from Nha Trang. Was told could not commit until the day of our arrival. we arrived early morning at 6.30 am following an overnight train journey. Our room was ready but the hotel made us wait till 7am and then charged for an early check in! We were then denied access to breakfast! The room was not tidied up before the normal check in after we had refreshed in the morning so not sure how they justify the charge. The rest of the stay was uneventful. A good breakfast and clean and tidy room. Ideal location in District 1.

Good property, well-furnished rooms, centrally located, 2-wheeler parking.
The major issue that I faced was that there was no support from reception to rent scooters. Other tourists should know that it is not easy to find a bike rental in the nearby blocks, so after coming to an unknown city, the hotel should be able to provide some contacts for the bike rental. The reception simply denied.
I would recommend that anyone booking a hotel in the Central District should first confirm about the bike rental with the hotel.
Also, there can be bit more vegetarian and eggless options in the breakfast, especially if the preference was already shared during booking. However they did cook a vegetable noodle on request.

Dear Ratnesh Chhajed, Thank you very much for taking your time to share your experience with us. It has come to my attention that you did not satisfy with our service as we could not support you to rent bike during you stay. Actually, we always have list of suppliers but after the covid pandemic the service of suppliers becomes limited so that they do not have enough bike for rent upon your request even we had checked with several suppliers. We are still working to find out suitable suppliers to be at our customers’ service. We appreciate for your feedback. For the breakfast, our vegetarian menu is always available at your service so please do not hesitate to inform our staff for better care. We look forward to having other opportunities to welcome you back soon. With Best Regards,

I can’t write anything bad about this hotel. It did nothing wrong or badly. I just can’t write anything particularly good. The staff are a bit less friendly than usual. We were asked for $20 (in cash and in $ ) deposit on arrival. Why? They didn’t make the room up after the first night.

Breakfast was good. Location was ok. Rooms are pretty comfy.

Dear A9328WLsimonw, Thank you for your review, We would like to send our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused during your stay. As policy, we need to collect USD10.00/day as deposit, this amount can be in cash, credit and will be refunded to you upon check out, we apologized as our receptionist did not make it clear. For making room after first night, we found in the record that the Do not Disturb light was turn on so that we could not enter to clean the room for you. We believe that besides these issues, you had a great stay with us. We look forward to having another opportunity to welcome you back. With Best Regards, Sanouva Saigon Team

Breakfast was amazing, probably the highlight. Room is good, clean, quiet, in general nothing to complain about. Nice and polite staff. During our stay, the room was always cleaned when we went out around 11-14 which is great. Often if you leave too late after breakfast and not for the whole day, you come back to still dirty room so this was really nice.
