Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed at Golpata on three separate occasions while in Bangladesh and highly recommend it as a place to stay. It’s clean and has a great atmosphere. People are always coming and going meaning there’s always someone to talk to. Joanna and her team are incredibly knowledgable so are able to provide loads of advice for your onwards travel. It’s also in a nice area of town with lots of little streets and bazars to explore.

We have already stayed several times at Golpata Guesthouse and every time it feels like home: Joanna always gives us a warm welcome, taking care of our needs, helps with the planning of our travels. She knows many colorful stories about Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi's. Also my children are asking repeatedly: when do we see Joanna again? And HappyJoy - best man ever. Playing with the children at the project in Savar was so nice - keep up the good work! We will certainly come back and bring more people. And cheese. :-D

We stayed at Golpata a few days and had a really nice time! The rooms are very clean and Joy was so sweet. He helped us with a tour to Old Dhaka and also helped us when we needed to find our way, or needed a taxi or other things. We only met one of the two owners, Mahadi, who took us for drinks on our first day, so we could start experiencing the Bangladeshi friendliness right away. We also visited the two shelters of Joanna in Savar, which is a really great experience! The work they do over at the shelter is so great, so definitely worth a visit!

Clean, cozy, comfortable, friendly and always attentive hosts. In the chaotic Dhaka, it is a small haven! Whether for business or tourism, it is perfectly located, giving you the chance to see the real Dhaka and experience the nearby markets and neighborhoods.

Great place to stay if you want to be near the airport. I booked a dorm bed for one night and had a pleasant experience. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They provided just about anything I would ever need from a hostel. Reliable, clean. Would recommend.

Very comfortable and cozy place to stay during either travelling or business trip. Nice, attentive and very interesting host - if you want to find out something about Bangladesh, need some suggestions - just ask! Very clean rooms, tasty breakfast, good coffee and tea. Just several minutes to the business centre of the city by riksha and at the same time it has very authentic location.

I stayed in Golpata Bed & Breakfast for 3 nights. In the chaotic city of Dhaka this is real haven. Rooms are spotless clean. Good breakfast in the morning. As it's at the outskirts of the capital, not that many noise on the streets so sleep was comfortable. Run by the friendly Joanna who replies quickly on mails. She and her staff are all the time very helpful and help you with the correct directions to get where you want. The place is not far from the airport so one should not worry about getting in traffic jams on your way to/from the airport. Several possibilities to get to the old city of Dhaka (CNG, buses, taxi).

Really enjoyed my stay at Golpata. I stayed 3 nights in a 4 bed dorm. They were ok with me arriving in the early of the morning and gave some good advice about Bangladesh ahead of my stay. Joanna was incredibly helpful and welcoming. Although it's quite a way out from old Dhaka, it's worth staying there for the good atmosphere and help you'll get from Joanna and the other staff.

This B&B is located in an apartment building in the north of Dhaka. There's not much to do in the immediate vicinity of the B&B, but there are a few shopping centres within walking distance, including Jamuna Future Park. The upmarket suburb of Gulshan is also within walking distance or a bicycle rickshaw ride away. The main touristy area of Dhaka is about 2 hours drive away (traffic is bad!) Our room was spacious with an ensuite bathroom, a nice view of the area and excellent air conditioning. We were given tea on arrival and we could help ourselves to tea and filtered water throughout our stay. Breakfast was nice – we had to agree on a time for breakfast the day before. They have free wifi. Keep in mind that the lifts don't work for two set hours during the day – you can take the stairs, but it's a bit of a walk.
