Lovely colonial style hotel, good restaurant, nice rooms, central location. The helpful and friendly staff even recommended nearby restaurants, mini mart, massage parlor, etc. Big flight of stairs with no elevator was only negative for us.

The Settha Palace Hotel is a charming, old-fashioned hotel, filled with a lovely feeling of history while at the same time possessing all the modern amenities. Highly recommended for both it's convenient location and it's pleasant grounds. The pool is a delightful place to unwind after a day of touring!

A good base for exploring Vientiane - the capital of Laos - very friendly and helpful staff - nice, good sized room, and the hotel is located a short walk from town. Excellent restaurant. Vientiane is not a terribly exciting place, but it's one of the gateways to Laos, and interesting for a couple of days.

Excellent hotel that makes you feel like a king! The best part is the hotel has a old grandeur feel smack right in the heart of the city, its like stepping into a different world. This also means most of the city sights are walk-able and convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. Its not cheap, but worth every penny.

On the good side: Nice hotel, wooden style, very pleasant staff. There was a long time that I didn't see a hotel with a soul, real charm, a hotel that doesn't look like a modern hospital cold and soulless. To improve: The tourist attractions... you need more information to give yo your customers (tour packages, etc...)

Perfect location both close enough to walk to local attractions but away from the noise of traffic. Great restaurant but not a popular one except for guests. Great staff makes you always feel welcome.

I have been staying at this beautifully restored Family Boutique Hotel many times since its opening in 1999 and I will always return. Sabaidee, to this charming historical Indochina hotel & its colonial splendor. Don't miss its great lush tropical resort type of swimming pool/area. Spacious rooms with 4 poster beds and a nicely designed bathroom. All wood in this...

It must be put in prospective that tourism in Laos is growing after years of being in the doldrums, with the standard of the hotel industry possibly being some years behind the more developed countries; that being said , and reiterating many of the past comments for this hotel, a beautifully restored hotel with spacious, clean rooms and comfortable beds....

We spent 4 nights in this hotel early November. It was our first stay in Laos and I booked a hotel with a pool (there are not that many in Laos) so that we could spend some rime relaxing by it before the rest of our trip; unfortunately it rained and/or no sunshine during our stay. This didn stop us...
