This is a great place to spend the summer. I stayed there for 10 days over the summer with my wife, and my elderly mom and dad. The room were nice and the beds were very comfortable. The staff all spoke very good English as well as Russian. One of the things that my family thought was the best part...

First of all, the guesthouse is not the worst place on earth, the room is decent, the shower has hot water and there is WiFi, coffee and tea. During your breakfast, you will eat next to 3 cats, which are defecating in the kitchen at the same time, so the smell can be – ehm, not appetizing. The owner seems...

We were recommended this place to stay by a fellow traveller. It was clean and the mattress was very comfortable - a rare thing in Mongolia! But we found the staff/family attitude was not great. First we weren't picked up at the airport as arranged, but this wasn't much of a problem because we got a taxi from outside the...

Chinggis Guesthouse is the loveliest place ever. Kimka her mom and her brother make you feel so welcome that you don't have the feeling staying in a guesthouse at all but more then an actual homestay with an mongolian family. Girls and boys even get their own sheets (pink and blue) and the guesthouse could't be any cleaner. When I...

The Chinggis Guesthouse was our base for our numerous stays in Ulaanbaatar during a 6 week trip to Mongolia, in between tours and while applying for our Chinese visas. Saikhna and her daughter Temka keep the guesthouse absolutely spotless and were so welcoming that it felt like going home every time we arrived back in UB. Saikhna collected us from...

The Chinggis Guesthouse is a great option for budget travellers based on it's very central location just behind the National Academic Drama Theatre. As per a previous comment, you really feel like you are a guest in a home rather than a customer in a sterile hotel. The family that run this guesthouse are very welcoming but not overbearing and...

We stumbled across Chinggis Guesthouse based on the positive comments of another traveller we met on the road, and although actually finding the place was very difficult - typical for these "apartment guesthouses" it seems - we were very glad we managed. The guesthouse was our home during our nine wintery nights in Ulaanbaatar while we sorted out train tickets...
