Stranded here for two nights in -35 degree weather. Brown water came out of the sink, bathroom was smaller than a cruise ship bathroom. Dark Hallways, and room service/restaurant was terrible. Bed was okay, TV was very snowy, and had the open window to regulate temperature in the room. internet in the room was down had to go to the... More

Our Air China flight was delayed for 11 hours, so they put us in the Palace Hotel to wait. I guess I wouldn´t have been so astonished if they didn´t call themselves a "4 star hotel"! It´s totally run down, no one speaks English (granted, this isn't that surprising in Ulaan Baatar), they only have smoking rooms that smell incredibly... More

I had to stay in this hotel because of being stranded in UB by Air China while every other airline was leaving and arriving, although Air China said we were delayed due to weather conditions. However, that is entirely another story. The hotel had no phones in the rooms, maybe Air China requested that? There is a difference in rooms... More

This hotel was booked for me by Black Box Ibex tour company. Black Box Ibex is terrible. Two days before I was to leave for Mongolia, I got an email from Black Ibex advising me that I was being moved from the Baynagol Hotel to the Palace Hotel. I had been emailing the Baynagol for some time in order to... More

I came here with a group of exhibitors and we chose here due to the location being close to the Misheel exhibition hall. All of our rooms had at least one problem, or in my case, five. The light in the bath room was broken, the toilet was unstable, and both TV and hair dryer didn't work. The attitude of... More

I had to stay here for two nights at the end of a recent trip as the hotel I was staying in (The Corporate) was fully booked, as were most other reasonable hotels in UB. From the outside it doesn't look too bad, and there are a couple of decent restaurants very close (Broadway being one), but once inside everything... More

I managed to experience 3 different rooms in this hotel during a group trip to Mongolia during the Nadaam festival. Its location for the events at the Nadaam Stadium cannot be bettered and also very close to the Winter Palace. Everything else in UB is a cab ride or longish walk. All the rooms were very hot and there was... More

Poor rating based on US/GB expectations. Average for a UB hotel. It's cheap. That's the greatest selling point for this hotel. Your opinion of this hotel will depend on your expectations and the room you are assigned. Don't expect much and you'll be okay. I was booked here by a group operator and was not expecting much. There are some... More

This is a clean hotel that produces a great smorgasboard breakfast. For UB it really is the wrong side of the river, but if you are here for the Naadam festival, then the location is perfect. It has WiFi but no internet - about 1/2 the staff have good English to understand you, but with the others, don't bother. The... More

'Pretty average at best' would be the best way of describing the Palace Hotel, as other guests have already testified in their reviews. The place is clean enough and the rooms spacious, but the hotel is lacking any 'wow' factor. This impression may be compelled by the bedraggled concrete exterior of the hotel and/or its location next to a busy... More
