Nippon has been a around a very long time and a favorite of mine for many years. i have tasted there pastries and mutton rolls in the past and i was relieved to see them back in action. Just for old time sake i tried the pastries, Mutton rolls, chicken patties and a piece of ribbon cake. I'll be honest...

After being fans of this place a very long time ago, we were so happy to see it revived. The mutton rolls at the Kafe are still phenomenal and last night we visited the Bamboo room. The waiter got our order wrong but they were so apologetic. Anyway the food was so great. The mutton curry was the best, we...

Visited them after the refurbishment and loved the service :) Ordered some short eats from their "Kafe" including the famous mutton rolls and loved it!!! The staff is fantastic. Very prompt and friendly. Apart from my little order, I manged to check out the rest of the hotel except the rooms since I didn't have enough time. The original 125...

The hotel was closed for a while for refurbishment and it's open again. The place looks very good. Didn't stay at the hotel but visited the cafe several times. The famous Nippon mutton and beef rolls are back and they taste the same as it was 20 years ago. Yummy!! The prices have increased threefold but it's still value for...

It's good experience. Don't go by old reviews. It's a brand new hotel, renovated and refurbished to a four star hotel. A coffee shop, two restaurants, one bar, a conference room and 49 rooms with very friendly staff. It's centrally air conditioned with central hot water system. Good quality linen, gel pillows, carpeted and very clean rooms of four star...

The bamboo room at the nippon hotel is an amazing experience for family gathering. The service is quite good and we managed to have the mutton rolls for starters (it tastes as good as it did two decades ago). The antique look has been well preserved and the dine in (as well as the menu) was well received by three...

I ended up here after I found out my credit and debit cards didn't work...good start to a 3week holiday! from the outside it looks a little run down but I thought the location it was in, it must be ok in side... oh how wrong was I!!! The reception's only highlight is the lovely staff who are polite and...

Good location but thats about the best thing here. The rooms were damp, dirty and there was no point trying to get clean in the bathroom as you come out feeling dirtier than when you went in. They also messed us around with room sizes, giving us a double room when we'd asked for a triple one.

I have stayed here a few times through the years and latest for a week eight years ago in the beginning of 2005 without any reservation in advance. And in Feb. 2013, I just went for a cup of tea. If you are looking for a cheap and conveniently situated hotel in Colombo just a short distance to Fort, the...

We didn't book any hotel in advance so randomly pick one from Agoda, base on the photos showing on their website and the price is relatively cheap, we gave a try. The reception is antique style, which is fine, however the room is horrible, first of all they didn't give us double bed, so the twins bed in different color...
