Ordered mee goring thro Pick Me for delivery. The delivery was on time by Pick Me. When the food was delivered it was warm. The mee goring was tasty. It includes a fried egg. The package was properly sealed for delivery.

We booked two rooms at this hotel in advance of arriving in Sri Lanka. My friend's room had cockroaches so she was moved to another room that smelled so musty I could not have stayed there. My room was basic but no issues. We were told breakfast was included but were later charged. When we checked out, they tried to say we had used three rooms and also that I was a 'no show' when I was obviously there. As we waited for a driver to come for us, they continued to try to generate false charges! The area around the hotel was not good and I would never go back to this hotel nor would I recommend it!

Thank you for your review of Ceylon City Hotel following your recent stay with us. Please note you and your friend booked your rooms on Expedia & Agoda and that included no meal plan. As per the no show incident when you arrived one of your friends were already staying with us at the hotel and you informed us that you will be staying with that guest and you would not be needing your room even though you already booked and paid through expedia. You had booked the rooms for 1 night (25th April) and you other guest who was already staying with us booked for 1 night initially (24th April). After you informing us that you won’t be using your room and since your room was from expedia we cannot do any amendments and we marked it as a no show for our reference. Then on the 2nd day the guest who was already with us came and informed to extend his room stay for 1 more night (April 25th Night) and we extended. We did inform the guest that his room was a FIT (direct booking with the hotel) and not related to your booking and the guest accepted that saying the guest need to extend the room. Then upon departure the guest who was already with us and who you were sharing a room did find faults with us for charging for a 2nd night which the guest informed us to extend his stay. Guest informed that the 2nd night was on your expedia booking. Even though this is not allowed and your booking was only for single occupancy but still we allowed to stay on double occupancy at no added cost. If the guest requested us to check in your booking for the extended night (25th night) then all would have been much clear. Also you and your friend who was already staying with us both booked for 1 person occupancy and as per our rule if a 2nd guest stay we have to charge for the 2nd person. But due to the reason you were unhappy with our hotel we waived this fee off too. Please note you had already booked from expedia & agoda and we cannot make any changes unless expedia and agoda send us a amended copy. As when the driver was coming we did charge for the breakfast as this did not include in the plan you booked in expedia or agoda. Let me also apologize for the inconvenience caused during your stay. I'm extremely sorry for the cockroach’s incident in your friend’s room. We take high measures to prevent these kinds of incidents but very rarely they snack out to a room. I understand this is not acceptable at all. we would at any time would not charge any amount for any of our guests for any payment they are not related to. This can been seen in our previous reviews and this is the 1st time we occurred such a incident. We would be happy to provide any further details in this regard and once again we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused and we definitely would like to make it a better stay on your next visit.

Stayed for 5 days in the hotel. To make a clear impression will put it point wise,
1)To begin with, right from the time i arrived till the time i left, the hospitality offered by the hotel staff was excellent and humbling. Always greeted with a lively smile.
2)Location is very conveniently off the Galle road which offers you transport at any time you want to go somewhere. The atmosphere is very peaceful with breathtaking sea views from the 4th floor Flamingo restaurant.
3)Room was well appointed , thoughtfully designed. Right from the wall paint to the bedding had a very five star feel and unique ambiance. Will give 10 out of 10 for the cleanliness in room.
4)Breakfast was complimentary and offered a wide variety of choice. Attendance by restaurant staff was also very nice.
5)Majestic city mall is just 5 min walk. Savoy Cinema is just 15 min walk. Can have a nice walk on Marine drive road on the sea side of Hotel.
6)Free WiFi was given which worked quite well.

To sum up this hotel is worth every penny you will spend. I will definitely look to come back in future whenever need to come to Colombo.

Well placed near some good shopping. Struggling to manage with a full house, getting some complaints regarding making up rooms. My first night in standard room not so good, very pokey and I felt claustrophobic. Second stay I was upgraded to deluxe room. Much better, room to move and even got a view over the corrugated iron to the sea. I turned up a day earlier than my booking and the staff were most helpful and found a room for me. Nothing to rave about but acceptable.

summary of the hotel: Cockroaches (see picture), smelly, noisy rooms with non-working wi-fi and with liars as workers in the hotel that are replying to some of the reviews with different things to what they said to us when we complaint onsite.

This is probably the worse hotel i have stayed in my entire life, and i recommend everybody to run away form it.

After so much complaining after a sleepless night and after three room changes, they made us pay for it!!! (even for the breakfast we did not have as after seeing the restaurant we decided it was not safe to eat there) and i had to ask them to call the police to get back the money we had previously paid for the second night or our planned stay!!

And is not in the city centre. It is colombo 4, which is 10-15 mins in tuck-tuck from the centre. The location is in a sordid alley.

If you don't want you holiday spoilt, avoid booking this hotel.

So far from the city centre that is not even in the tourist maps, the hotel is in a filthy alley across Galle road. First room given smelled very strongly of damp; second had the water pump on top with a noise of a washing machine every ten seconds, third had air conditioning machines in and off all night. In brief- couldn't sleep and had to look for another hotel the night after.

Thank you for your review of Ceylon City Hotel following your recent stay with us. First of all let me apologize of any inconvenience caused t your on your stay with us. We would like to kindly clarify that we are situated in the heart of Colombo and our location is a prime reason many travelers choose us. We are situated in the commercial hub of Colombo which is Colombo- 04. We first offered your a Deluxe room in the 1st floor and you rejected the room because of the smell and we changed you to another deluxe room in the 3rd floor. Once again we would kindly clarify that all our water pumps are situated in the ground floor and we do not have washing machines any where in the building. We then offered you a room in the ground floor and you had rejected that room and wanted to check out stating a problem with the AC. This is the 1st time we had such complains from guests on all rooms offered. Which apologizing for the inconvenience caused we would love to welcome you back and provide you with an wonderful stay with us.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the place is pretty clean and the location is OK.

However the room we got had a window with no view (1 meter wide inaccessible balcony structure with large white panel). When we asked for another room they told us there was only one alternative room and that room had no window at all.

We booked a triple room and like many other hotels, the room has a third bed, but otherwise it's a double room. The extra bed was not made up properly and there were only pairs of everything. (2 glasses, 2 mugs, 2 bottles of water, 2 towels). After calling reception they fixed the problem.

There's also a desk in the room, but no chair to sit on. The room is very cramped.
