Location is great - a short walk from the main sights in Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar). The staff are very helpful, giving us guidance for directions. Breakfast was very good, with lots of vegetarian options. The view from the terrace is lovely! The room was very nice, with a safe, mini fridge, very good Wifi,...

We stayed at the Saruhan Hotel for four nights. Our room had a little balcony and was facing the rear so very quiet. The rooms are soundproofed so no waking up to "the call of prayer"! - VERY quiet! Great position as only minutes away for places to eat. We organized a transfer from airport for 22€ and they were...

Stayed in this hotel for a week with my wife and 2 year-old daughter. For the price this was a great hotel. Stayed in the family room with the patio. Loved every moment and the selection on the breakfast buffet was superb with great views of the sea and city from the terrace. Clean room and friendly service. Really access...

This small hotel is in the heart of old Istanbul. All city attractions are at walking distance. We were on Turkey tour planned by Shashot travel. & this hotel is part of that group. Very cozy and beautiful place. Thought basic, very clean and comfortable. They have a small lounge at reception level, where they have coffee / tea vending...

Friendly host, nice and clean rooms (we had two), very breakfast on the top of the building. Location is perfect at walking distance to the main city attraction and very good restaurants. We walk during the night feeling very safe in the dark streets.

I booked a hand-picked tour of Turkey and couldn't have done everything that I wanted to do without Melahat's help. She was very helpful and patient, and replied to emails instantly. We had many other travel agents and tour companies tell us that we couldn't do the locations in Turkey that we wanted to do, and Melahat helped us to...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
