We enjoied the breakfast at the terrace with a Marmara sea view, especially now that there's a brandt new lift. Almost all rooms have a balcony. The garden side is the most quiet, but at Istanbul you can't help to be awake up by the prier calls from the Mosques. The hotel is at 15 minuts from the Blue Mosque...

My wife and I had a great time staying at the Saruhan Hotel. Everyone was extremely helpful and we were able to walk to all the great spots in Istanbul and close to public transport. There are a number of excellent restaurants close by. When we arrived home we realized we had forgotten something in the safe and they sent...

If you are looking for hotel room amenities, clean & big room, with elevator but at friendly guesthouse price, this is it! Saruhan hotel is totally new, very nice furnished, bigger room than you can get in guesthouse, an elevator so that you can carry your huge lugguage through the staircase (which in most guesthouse, are narrow one). Great little hotel, well worth staying at. The terrace is lovley and the breakfast sets you up nicely for the day. We stayed in a sea view room with a little balcony - you could see the sea but also the train track and artificial football pitch which didn't bother us but might not be to everyone's taste! The room...

This is the second time we've stayed at the Saruhan Hotel. The first time, two years ago with our children, this time with friends. It worked out perfectly both times. Online reservations - no problem. It's in a very convenient location for walking around the historic area of Istanbul. The family that owns/runs the hotel and their staff are extremely...

Saruhan Hotel is adequate, in that they do all the basic things quite adequately. The hotel has a slight B & B feel to it, and that was mostly a positive thing. Pluses: Rooms with seaview have a wonderful view Rooms in general are quite well lit Breakfast was served in a lovely rooftop terrace The reservation process was very...

We stayed for 2 nights only and loved it. The location is VERY nice between wooden old Istanbul houses, very close to Sultanahmet but far enough to be not touristy AND close to the water. Has great view from the rooftop restaurant where you can enjoy your amazing breakfast! I hope I will return one day to stay longer... Go...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
