The location is a big advantage in the middle of Istiklal street and close to many bars and restaurants. I stayed in this hostel 3 times already and will definitely come back again. The staff is very nice and friendly, there is a very pleasant atmosphere in general. I only didn't like that WC was on the other floor.

Cool atmosphere and super nice people at the reception. I would just advise to clean the showers better. It is not the closest hostel to the main attractions (those are located in Sultanahmet) but it is well connected (although you have to consider some time to arrive to the center). Even though it is not located right in the center,...

This was a great hostel to stay at. The whole vibe is super chill and the staff was incredibly nice. One of the workers even took me and my friend out for the night and showed us around like locals. They were very warm and welcoming on a cold rainy day. A little hard to find but once you get...

I've spent 3 nights at this hostel. It's a place to meet people, most of them are backpackers, long life travelers on low budged. Overall it was an interesting experience, specially due to the interaction with the staff which was willing to take you out to party and introduce you to the others.

Was disappointed staying here. I guess you get what you pay for. Good for not spending much time, recommended maybe 1 night. Negative : very dusty & dirty, even found a toe nail clipping next to my bed! Dorm room had no fan or A / C, was really hot with lots of people sleeping in the one room. Only...

We spent 5 nights at the hostel. The staff is really friendly, great service, free tea and common places to meet and chat with travellers from all around the world. Our lamp didn't work so we even got a new room with our own balcony which was very nice and appreciated! Don't expect to sleep to much though, the walls...

Our stay took 7 days, double room with external bathroom. Negative: Absolutely disgusting and too less toilets. The hostel has got a capacity for a lot of people that can use the 4 bathrooms. One of the bathrooms was all the time closed, maybe because it was defect. So if you consider that a lot of people use the 3...

Stayed for 4 nights with 2 friends in a 10-bed mixed dorm. First of all, unbelievably cheap: 25LR a night. Unfortunately, there were only 4 tiny bathrooms for the entire hostel. These were bearable and did provide hot water, but always smelt awful. Most of the furniture in the hostel is, albeit colourful and very edgy, broken, dirty or just...

This was my second stay at Chillout Cengo. We stayed with my girlfriend 5 days in a private double room. Breakfast, lunch or dinner with a bunch of peoples from all over the world! Chatting and laughing, for our trips, countries, hometowns, politics, food, drinks, movies, books, exchange "words" from our languages. Emre (Trabzon), Juan (Portugal), Shelby and Kevin (USA),...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
