We stayed here at this nice boutique and the location couldn't have been more perfect! It is right across from the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya. For the price range this is fabulous. The rooms are a big small but they are very clean. They had free wifi as well as air conditioning in the room. The staff was extremely...

We had a brilliant stay at Arasta Boutique Hotel, the staff were so helpful and polite. We arrived at 2am, but the manager came out to collect our baggage from the taxi and showed us to our rooms. We booked the Double Room With View but they gave us the Double Room Delux which had amazing views of Marmara Sea...

The room and bathroom were nice- a bit small and the shower lacked pressure but it was good. The location was great, very close to the tourist attractions and to restaurants. The person at the check in was nice. The only thing is, do not pay for the mosque view rooms as we paid double to get a mosque view...

I stayed with my gf at Arasta Boutique Hotel in April 2015. When we arrived, we met the owner and he appeared to be a very nice and helpful person. We got the best room on the very top floor with windows around the walls, so that we could see the city, the sea and breath fresh air. Accomodations were...

We were immediately greeted by the hotel manager upon our arrival. He came to the street to assist us with our luggage. As a language person, I loved that the first thing he did once we entered the property was provide us with a cheat sheet of Turkish to assist us during our stay. The hotel is located between the...

You know the kind of people that seem to like arguing? The kind of people that appear to approach every encounter with another human as a chance to ensure they win and you lose? The guy that runs this hotel is that kind of person. Among many low points on our visit here: - Upon arrival, the owner demanded we...

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of our 1 month trip in Turkey. What a bad ending! This place is nothing like what they promote! It's well located and staff is friendly...but's that' it! The view is awful. There was mold in the bathroom, holes in the wall, dirt everywhere, broken mirror. We couldn't use the fridge (and...

Though we didn't get the room that we've actually booked and paid for, the Management gave us bigger room (family suite) and didn't charge extra for the room. It was too big for the two of us, but the thing we like about the room was its location; facing directly to the magnificent Blue Mosque and Arasta Bazaar. The room...

Our room was so tiny that almost all of the space was taken up by the bed. The hotel advertises views, but we had no view of anything. Look at the attached pictures of the outside of the building. There are four floors. The first floor is the lobby and the fourth floor is the breakfast room and terrace. That...

Cheap, basic and simple accomodation, it was OK for the 2 nights we have spent here. But it has the best view from the rooftop, right onto the Blue Mosque, enjoy a beer upstairs! Staff is very friendly, too.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
