We were admittedly in the off season but I expect that this hotel and its staff will always provide an excellent experience. We have traveled all over the world and always appreciate the high quality of service we experienced at the Amira. Every staff person had obviously been well trained, liked their job, and seemed sincere in their service. Of...

I was unsure of what to expect when I booked the Amira - the reviews were all good, but could I believe them? I called the hotel to make sure that they understood we would be arriving very late, and did not want mix-ups, and sofa beds not ready etc. and called again to make sure it was all in...

We arrived in Istanbul during unusual winter storm, but the hospitality of Hotel Amira made our stay in the city a lot easier and pleasant. The staff went out o their ways to make us feel at home. They helped deliver our boots with broken soles to shoe repairer and got it back 2 hours after we checked in, saving...

This is the quintessential definition of a great boutique hotel with everything going for it. I think that location, service, staff and quality of hotel are all 5 stars. If you're looking for a place that is reasonable in price and want a no-worries stay, this is it. If you're like me obsessing about all the research you do before...

An excellent small hotel. The staff was very helpful; my room was clean and quiet; the free breakfast was absolutely delicious and set the standard for other hotels to model. For a fee the hotel arranged transportation from Ataturk airport.

Charming property within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Arasta Bazaar and the Grand Bazaar. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance as well. The highlight of the trip was the staff, they were so warm and friendly. Each and everyone of them from the receptionist to the bell boy was extremely helpful in helping us plan our...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
