Nice cozy hotel in the Sultanahmet district - old part of Istanbul. Location is perfect - very near to the Blue Mosk. Room is not big and furnishings are very simple, but all necessary things were given. Bad is comfortable, but pillows a little bit too springy. Receptionists were very polite and useful, breakfast was authentic and quite various. So,...

Stayed here 3 nights. The location is great - a short walk to major sights in the Sultanhamet area. The breakfast included has a nice spread with everything from carbs to vegetables to yogurt. Wi-Fi worked and free of charge. The rooms are European-sized, but that's to be expected. Front desk is helpful.

This hotel is small, clean and reasonably-priced. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is consistently good. The location is perfect for exploring Sultanahmet and it is about 7 minutes walk to the tram. Some rooms are definitely single rooms (eg 303) and those facing the street get some street noise. But the twin rooms facing the old...

We loved the hotel. The helpfulness of the staff, the central location that enabled us to walk to most highlights, the wonderful breakfast and the cost. This is a clean, quaint, wonderful place. While the room is small, and there is no elevator, the staff made sure our bags got to and from our room and it is always good...

A lovely and quaint place to stay. We spent our first 2 nights in Istanbul at the Novano Hotel. The hotel is very clean, breakfast was delicious (very good yogurt, olives, tomatoes, eggs, Turkish style eggs, a selection of Turkish cheeses, seasonal fruits, cereals, etc.) and the staff was very helpful. The bedroom was on the small side, but had...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“The rooms that face the ancient wall and have no view at all may be the quietest ones, but I preferred the charming street view with a small french balcony. The street itself was a small one so there wasn't almost any traffic at all so it didn't bother us.”
