The Minel Hotel was the perfect "home base" for us during our stay in Istanbul. It is located so close to many of the sights and also close to public transportation! the staff was very helpful in suggesting things to do and making reservations for us where needed. Having breakfast right there in the hotel every morning was very convenient....

Small hotel in a hidden street close to Gülhane Park. 5 minuts walk to the Blue Mosque. Very nice decoration in the rooms and the bathroom - modern style. but rooms are very small. Nearly no space between the wall and the bed. I was alone in a double bed room and I found it small, so I cannot imagine...

I enjoyed my stay at Minel hotel and came back when I passed through Istanbul again. The location is excellent - in Sultanahmet but on a quiet street. The rooms are small, as in most hotels I stayed in in Turkey and Greece, but they are clean and the beds are comfortable. The included breakfast is superb and the free...

We stayed 7 days in Minel hotel with our 3 boys (17 to 22 y). We appreciated the friendly atmosphere: people were always disponible to give information , offer a cup of tea or share experience in other travel...Good buffet breakfast with warm cooking. Room nicely decorated but rather small. Very quiet. Location is "just close from everything".We walked almost...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
