I've chosen to stay at the Gumusyan hotel when visiting Istanbul on business several times. Clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. Very good service. Free wifi and complimentary bottled water.

My wife and I many times visited Istanbul. Always stayed at Istiklal Avenue near Taksim square. This time we decided to live near Tunel. An excellent hotel. We know that on Istiklal street nightlife and evening noise but this is its charm. We lived on the 4th floor and our room was quiet, facing the courtyard. Only on Saturday there...

just one night here for a business trip. Comfortable and clean, friendly bar downstairs. Handy location right by a metro station and walking distance to all the restaurant in Taksim Square. Breakfast was fixed but very nice and taken in a cafe a couple of doors away

Stayed on a Sunday and Monday night, very quiet, lovely room, great service. Excellent location, walking distance to many shops, fantastic restaurants in Karakoy, galleries, museums etc. Very accessible. Great hammam nearby and Istanbul Modern. Highly recommended.

We LOVED our stay at the hotel. The area is non touristy and packed with bars and restaurants. It's in a perfect walking distance from the Gallata Bridge and the Taksim square. The hotel itself including it's bar is absolutely state of the art. The room was exactly like on the pics on the website – even more spacious. The staff...

Really enjoyed my stay there last year. Rooms, location, and everything is perfect. Very clean and tidy, friendly staff, competitive asking price for the rooms, totally recommend it. Only one issue, it's really loud around hotel during weekends. May want to sleep with ear plugs on.

We took the junior suit and it was a very spacious room with a balcony. It was lovely. We could walk to most areas the downside was the club next door on Friday and Saturday nights. Extremely loud...the walls even vibrated! All the noise settled at 2 AM. Breakfast had about 10 selections daily. Very nice.

We'd booked a long weekend (5 women), and we're well seasoned travellers. On arrival at the hotel, around 8pm, we were informed that they had no booking for us. We had booked through a travel agent and had all the paperwork on us, including receipt of payment, but they still said we didn't have a booking. We were informed we...

Noisy - loud music and people in the bar downstairs make it impossible to sleep and complaining about it dosen't result in anything, bad service, uncomfortable beds, weird breakfast with very limited choices. Only positive thing about the hotel is the decoration and look of the rooms, but unfortunately this becomes an unimportant factor. Don't book here if you want...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
