I have stayed at the Hotel Nena on several occasions. It is a great little hotel, conveniently located between the Grand Bazaar and Sultanahmet Square (Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque), and is in easy walking distance of the Topkapi Palace and the Istanbul metro. The staff is friendly and there is a very good breakfast at the rooftop dining room....

WAlking distance from Sultanahmet(blue) mosque, Hagia sophia, Topkapi palace, basilica cisterns, grand bazaar, and a very short tram ride away from spice bazaar and eminonu ferry station for bosphorous rides. It has an elevator!! Rooms are clean, comfortable with good heating. Our room had...

Very near to Sultanahmet tram station, shops, restaurants, the blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace. Despite the strategic location, the breakfast can be improved. Staff should be more friendly.

We chose to stay at Hotel Nena whilst in Istanbul based on previously positive published reviews. We were not disappointed. As we were staying for 5 nights, Hotel Nena provided us with a hotel transfer from Ataturk International Airport at no cost. Upon arrival, we were met by the friendly staff and despite arriving early, we were shown to our...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
