The service was very nice, these people seemed to really care about their guests' stay in this large metropolis of a city. I found the location to be very good, within walking distance of many sites and good shops, as well as close to public transportation. The breakfast was very good with quite a variety of offerings. I believe they...

We stayed at Maya Hotel from 28th April to 1st of May and we had a pleasant stay. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, and the windows did a good job at isolating the noise of the street, and we had a good rest. However, the bathrooms were incredibly small, we didn't even have a counter or something where...

My wife and I stayed here as part of a package. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is great, close to tram line which takes you to the Blue mosque, Hagia Sofia and other attractions. It is walking distance to the Grand Bazar. Great location!

Stayed in Maya Hotel during 2011 F1 Grand Prix weekend. Hotel is pretty basic but good value for money. I traveled alone. Got a room with a double bed without an extra charge. Staff was helpful when I had questions how to get around Istanbul and how to get to the racetrack. I got free pick-up from the airport. If...

We stayed here as part of a package while in Istanbul for the F1 Grand Prix. It is a basic 3 star hotel may be old, but is clean. Staff were lovely even though English is not readily spoken. Breakfast provided is an European breakfast so do not expect bacon & eggs. You will get cheese, bread, salad etc though...

We were looking for an accommodation for 2 days in Istanbul as we had a prior booking to another hotel. We were happily given the rooms and were picked up from the airport. We found the hotel was in a quite locality and very near to all the sites in Istanbul. The staffs were very friendly and courteous. We liked...

The double room was very small and the bathroom was barely maneuverable. The place is economical, clean and well worn. The staff was nice. The biggest draw back is its location which is a 20-30 minute walk to the Blue Mosque area. Try Hotel Sarnic for a few euros more.

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
