Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I traveled to this city to participate in the Istanbul Marathon. Konak Hotel is a small 4-star hotel near Taksim Square. The location of the hotel is very good. The lobby is very small but relatively elegant. There is not much space for guests to sit in the lobby. I had a twin room on the 5th floor, the space in the room was very very small, there was a folding stool in the room for luggage but no space to put it, the same with the bathroom and toilet, you will constantly bump into the door and walls, the view from the window is very It was ugly, the room was very clean and the room was cleaned every day. The corridors were mostly silent and quiet, but the noise in the alley behind the hotel was annoying (Saturday night, the sound of a woman's frightened screams, followed by several men shouting, woke me up with fear at 3 am, and at some hours of the day, the loud noise of the devices construction was coming), the staffs were ordinary and did not inspire a sense of friendship and did not have a supportive behavior, the breakfast restaurant was two floors underground, very hot with poor ventilation, the number of tables and chairs was relatively few, the breakfast foods were at the level of 3-star hotels with very little variety But it was of good quality, the hotel did not have special facilities, there was no swimming pool or sauna in the hotel, the hotel looks a bit dark and sad and it is not suitable for young people, children and athletes. Overall, in my opinion, this hotel is a clean 3-star hotel. It is considered good, but it does not meet the criteria of a 4-star hotel at all.

Small hotel and not the newest. The staff is very welcomming. Breakfast is small but, enough. WIFI is fast. AC works only on one temp. not the whole year. Location is amazing and is on the Taksim square. warmly recommend. We will come back again

The hotel had kind staff for the most part. I thought they did a good job with breakfast. The air conditioner in the suite nor the fan in the bathroom worked, though. Also one of the light switches did not work. I let them know about the mechanical issues with the suite where we stayed. The hotel did not fix them, though. The other issue that turned sour for me was when we checked out. They charged us a little over $50 US dollars for taking sodas from the room. That price was outrageous. I explained at checkout that no prices were shown regarding the sodas. The guy behind the desk showed me a picture of a barcode as if that would rectify the issue. He never apologized, but would interrupt me as I tried to explain. I never saw a barcode in the room, nor would I even think about looking for one while staying in the suite. I mentioned the mechanical issues with the suite to give him an idea about the issues we had already had. Instead of apologizing he just went on about the cost of sodas I needed to pay. I was patient and kind with him. I payed it and wished them a good day. I would recommend anyone looking to stay in Sisli to find a different hotel. We were able to see there were several others along that same street. Next time, we won't be staying here.

We stayed 2 nights with a tour group and there was a lot of street noise in part because it was near the end of Ramadan so people were celebrating into the night. Between 2-3 AM someone walked the side streets both nights beating a huge drum and singing. Hotel is located near Taksim Square in the heart of the business district on a very busy street. The rooms are small and ours had a step across the middle so one of us promptly tripped over it and fell down. Now for the positive experiences. Staff was helpful, most spoke some English. Rooms were clean. The evening meals were average, but not very typical for this country, more international in character (Schnitzel with French fries), but the breakfast buffet was delicious. The decor is dark, but with some neat art work in the halls and lobby.

The location is amazing, almost at the Taksim. The rooms are very clean, High speed WiFI. breakfast is fair, no more. Most of staff are very friendly. the main issue is the airco in the rooms. If the weather is app. 20C no cooling AC in the room and if you open the window as it is main street the noise is very high. We had to ask several times untl we received ventilate. Showers (our room) it is time for refurbish. yes, we will come back again but it is not 4 star hotel

I stayed at Konak Kotel for two days at the begging of October 2022. First impression wasn't the best as the hotel has to take in a group of 16 people and wasn't ready for it. It took almost an hour for me to be able to get a room since the cleaning process wasn't finished. Generally the room was ok and noise proof from the outside but there was some noice from the inside of the hotel. Bathroom was comfortable with adequate warm water. Breakfast didn't have much options.

Worst experience ever. My room had a view of the trash area. The breakfast waitresses were rude! Rooms they show you on pictures either they didn't give us or do not exist. We asked them to change our room. They gave us even worse.

The Staff are very friendly and customer-service oriented. Asked them several times for help and they never hesitated. Breakfast is good even though there aren't many options. Rooms are clean and I was lucky to get an upgrade randomly even though it's a quite busy time of the year in Istanbul. Good value for money actually

They charge you double if you are a tourist (not Turkish)! And the way that they explain this was so rude! I tried to explain and tried to understand why but they never listened. I never recommend this place.
