I found this hotel after a near disastrous start to our family holiday. We booked a family suite which consisted of one room with double bed and one room with 3 single beds. The room were nice and clean but could do with a lick of paint just to refresh the look but it was absolutely fine for us. The...

The Tashkonak isn't really a 4 star hotel, but the people that run it are very nice and accommodating. There isn't much space in the room, but if you are friendly enough and not too wild you can ask to use the upstairs breakfast restaurant as a place to hang out.

Close to the Old Centre of Istanbul and within walking distance of all the sights. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and to a good standard. They are cleaned every day Breakfast is typical Turkish fare and there is plenty to choose from., and you can eat at your leisure whist planning your day. The wifi is...

I stayed at this hotel for one week with my family and had a good experience. The hotel staff (specially Ilhan) were very helpful by giving us recommendations on what to do and which places to visit. They were able to make bookings for us to the famous tourist areas in Istanbul and around. Breakfast was great and had a...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
