During the last few years I used to book in a near by hotel in Beyoglu area Isteklal st. For many years I refused making any change. the hotel was convenient and suitable to our needs. This year I decided to take the "risk" and booked in Anemos Hotel. Simply it was fantastic. Anemos hotel is next to Galata Tower....

...we should change next day the room, walls are so sensetive for noise and so hot in summer time... but u open the window...and all tourists voices are there )))) Somehow the blanket was so thick, like it was the winter outside, usually must be 2 options))) but location is perfect no doubts, perfect...espcially my favorite 20 times visited bar......

I like the location and helpful staff, This is just opposite the Galata Tower. 5-10 minutes walk from Shishane Metro station and Tunnel Tram Station. Their roof top restaurant is having a great view of harbor.

Upper floor deluxe rooms and suites are the best. Great views from the terrace. Nice breakfast. Great wine shop called Sensus, downstairs in a cellar like store. The terrace has views of the Galata Tower and Golden Horn. The breakfast is served on the terrace which is a big plus.

Turn of the century property with matching /outdated decor and furnishings, and ditto bathrooms. Rooms smallish except the Junior Suites, worth the extra 30 bucks. Kind housekeeping staff, to be commended. Service otherwise below par, prepare to call Reception twice each time you need anything. Glassed-in rooftop breakfast place and evening restaurant w/ 5-star view of Sultanahmet, Golden Horn and...

This is a fine city hotel. We stayed for only 2 nights. The front desk reception staff are polite and quick to check you in. We had a room that faced down the side of the hotel and not in front of Galata tower which is only a stretch away. This was fine for us as it was very peaceful....

Staff was so helpful. Loved rooftop breakfast, view is breathtaking. Could think of no better way to start the day. And be sure to try wine cellar. Great cheeses and wine. Was perfect! Window was facing Galata tower. Can get a little loud , so maybe request rear room if that bothers you.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
