Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel was nothing like described. The pictures on the booking.com website were completely different to the actual hotel which was also admitted by the manager. The room was tiny. I'm 5ft3inc and my legs were still hanging off the bed! When I was on holiday, trying to get hold of the manager took hours and on my first day there I kept getting told he will be in soon so to wait. I wasted over 4 hours of my day sitting in the room instead of enjoying my city break, only to find out the manager was in the office the whole time. He was so rude and told me to look for another hotel! I was only there for 2 nights and he had already wasted so much of my time and yet had the nerve to ask me to waste time looking for another hotel. The bathroom had no shower door and was tiny so by the end of my shower the whole bathroom was flooded and the water was upto my ankles! The manager also said he will put the new pictures up online in 2 days and that was 2 weeks ago. This still hasn't been done. We had to wait hours for an iron! We were also told when we got there that we had not paid and had to pay again! We had already paid in full!!!! Please do not stay here!

This is a poky little place. Hard to find. Hard to access. Tiny rooms. Really a bunch of rooms attached to a mediocre restaurant. The entrance is at the back of the restaurant. Need to carry your bags up a flight of stairs before you can access the lobby or the elevator. The towel in my room was dirty, and the toilet paper was nearly gone. Junk in the he trash can, uncleaned. The lobby folks (who are very nice) are uncoordinated with the restaurant folks, so breakfast timings are off. Shower leaked. I am not sure the sheets had been changed -- certainly didn't smell fresh. Very disappointed. The location was the only redeeming factor.

Great Hotel, run by a family who are absolute professionals and most of them speak very good English. The room was super clean with a modern bathroom and it's also near everything. Sultanahmet neighborhood is about 15 min walk , and you are also near the tram station. They also have a good restaurant downstairs which serves delicious food and decent wines.I would definitely go back here , they made us feel at home and welcome.

The hotel is perfectly located 7 minutes walk to Grand Bazaar and 7 minutes walk to the sea of Bosphorous. Tram runs past the hotel with a tram stop 70 m from the hotel. making access to rest of Istanbul easy. Friendly staff goes out of there way to make you feel at home.Breakfast include large freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee.

Stayed for 6 nights after booking thru a hotel booking site (got a nice deal). Small hotel with 15 odd rooms, with no reception area. One has to climb stairs to 1st floor from where one can avail elevator to higher floors. Hotel staff members are extremely helpful (special mention for Erwin) and makes sure your luggage is sent over to your room. Though we missed the breakfast on next day morning due to emergency leave taken by the Chef, the breakfast on other days were great with Fruits, juices, home made breads, eggs, salami, omelette followed with Turkish coffee. Great location, in the center of area of tourist attractions. Walking distance to Blue mosque, Aya Sophya, Basillica Cistern, Grand Bazar, Gulhane Park etc. Surrounding area has many souvenir shops & street side restaurants (can get a decent meal for 50-100 Turkish Lira). Also the Sweet shops selling Baklava & Turkish Delight of many different variety. Airport transfer is provided by the Hotel for 30 euros (about 120 TRY) per room. This may be a preferred mode from airport to hotel. You may avail cheaper transfer from hotel to airport (IST) from any of the travel offices for 20 TRY per person. Excellent weather during 1st week of September.

The hotel location is the only thing that was good, it's not a 4 stars hotel at all maybe it's should be 2 stars or less. I book the suit room and it was terrible it's really not clean and hygiene, the balcony was disgusting with a damaged chairs. We paid 229 TR for one night charge and didn't sleep there, after we saw that we run away immediately. The reception guy was very aggressive with us and not polite. Please be careful the photos shows something else.

I ended up here once by accident and I recently came back for a full week. O have no complaints. The location is great. The management is great and the rooms are spacious, clean and quite. I never bother to comment on hotel sites but I came across the recent comment by the guy with the family who gave it 2 stars and I have to say that I'm incensed. The rooms at the Blu are almosy soundproof - much more than most other hotels - yet, despite pleading from ALL the guests on the hotel he and his rude family managed to noise-up the entire place. I still stayed in the hotel because everything else was excellent but this fellow has absolutel zero consideeation for ANYONE else. I never comment on hotels, even great ones, but this is a great hotel that needs the record set straight.
