Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked a guest room in for 6 night, I was overwhelmed by the service, from the host. He was exceptionally helpful as he went beyond above, as he gave me great advice of places that I could visit, going through precise directions. So I wouldn't get lost. The location was amazing as it is very close to two mosques, cisterns and the Grand Bazaar. The beach was easy journey via the ferry. There was tram line 7 minutes walk away, as this was really useful. The room was clean and fresh. There was a restaurant directly downstairs, that had a great entertainment every night with fantastic vibes and great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this guest house, for solo female travellers as I felt safe.

I had a 2 night stay booked at Istanbul Hostel. Unfortunately they had to shut business without notice, However the management did everything to accommodate me. I arrived in Istanbul very late around 11:30 Pm. Dan- Manager @ Istanbul hostel was waiting on the street to make my arrangement - truly appreciate it. Made sure he was there for both the days enquiring about my stay even arranged a very comfortable, affordable shuttle ride back to the airport.

Unfortunately my stay from Tuesday 13.9.16 - Friday 16.9.16 was ruined by the maintenance, noise & dust. They really shouldn't have been open for business as there was no service to speak of. The guy whose been running it for 18 years was v upset & apologetic, it was beyond his control & he did give me a partial refund after I complained. It's a shame as the location was very central.

The hostel was super, the location is super easy just follow the instruction that will emailed to your email guaranteed you will reach the hostel. The hostel is so close to the blue mosque and sultan ahmet square. The staff was friendly, help me a lot. you will have free breakfast and of course free wi-fi. You can take the breakfast on the top roof, the view was amazing, it's super cool. There is no restriction what time you will go back to the hostel at night but just be wise to not make a noisy when you back late. The toilet was good, hostel is clean as well.

Basically all of the hostels in Istanbul are crap. This one has a nice feel with good views and helpful staff, although don't expect to be blown away by anything unique or interesting. Security is however not it's strong point, although the reception was always manned at the entrance.

Location is perfect. 2 of the best mosques within 5 minutes walking distance. Staff really helpful and flexible. Clean facilities. Although toilets uncomfortably cramped. Average breakfast. But dining room has spectacular view of the Bosphorus. Overall very enjoyable experience.

Broke my journey back to UK from Northern Cyrus with three day stay in Istanbul. Well worth the effort! Amazing buildings & sea front. Was able to get around more using my Brompton folding cycle, which created much interest & enabled me to see much more in time available. Orient Hostel well located in Sultanamet area for exploring old town. Amazing views of Bosphorus from café area on top floor. Helpfu, friendly staff.Excellent breakfast as part of room cost.
