The rooms were tiny, they were clean to a reasonable standard, carpet was completely worn out. The service appalling, free transfer from hotel to airport offered but no one turned up!! Location is great, but this is never a four star.there are many better hotels nearby, like golden horn or orient express.

The hotel arranged airport transport for us at a reasonable rate but on returning from N. Cyprus a week later found that there is a fantastic bus service between Aturturk and Sabaha Gocken for less than £20 for 2 you just have to change at Tachsim Sq. The hotel staff especially Suzan are really helpful in arranging trips for you...

The Centrum seems to have mixed reviews, so I was a bit apprehensive, but I can honestly say that I would happily return. It was ideally placed on a very quiet street just a few minutes walk from all the places you will want to see in Istanbul. Although we chose to walk everywhere, we could have used Istanbul's tram...

Very well located on a charming cobbled street near all the main sites in Istanbul and to the train and ferry terminals. Rooms are adequate, somewhat shabby but clean bathroom and lots of hot water; also the linens smelled clean and not of smoke as do so many in Turkey. Staying on the second or third floor is best to...

I have just returned from Istanbul, where I have stayed in hotel Centrum. It is a small hotel in the center of old part of Istanbul, named Sultanahmet. It is close to the most interesting places as Agia Sophia is, and the others like Blue Mosque, Kapalicharsi, Aksaray, Topkapi...Taxim square is just 4-5 tramway stations far from the hotel. Hotel...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
