We were there for 2 nights,as travelling for medical reasons. First of all the room it wasn't clean properly ,dirty curtains was the toilet had black stains on the corner, the shower full of mould and the smell of cigarettes was awful. I'm that kind of person that if the toilet is not very clean then I wouldn't feel comfortable. Another...

This hotel is very close to the metro. It takes about 3 min. So close and easy to find in a main street. And located in quite safe area. There is a large supermarket nearby. Nice hotel and very good located. Personnel is nice and willing to help. Don't hesitate to ask what you need, as they will not give you the best things upfront (room, towels, etc.). Breakfast is ok for this type of hotel. One warning not relevant to the hotel: The street hotel is a short one and not all taxi drivers...

I've stayed at Nil Hotel in January 2013 while I was on a business trip to Istanbul. First of all the sfaff was very friendly and helpful. Secondly the location was perfect, it is almost in the heart of Istanbul with just 10 minutes walk to Taksim, 3 minutes to Nisantasi, and 7 minutes to Sisli. The breakfast was superb...

I found this hotel quite noisey, dirty and unpleasant. I stayed in the Nil while on a business trip, so internet access was very important. However, despite connecting to three of the hotel's different WIFI access points (all provided excellent reception), webpages often didn't load. When the internet was working, I did a speed test, showing 50kbit/sec download with a...

Good things: Ok reception staff. Near a metro station. Bad things: This is an extremely noisy hotel. I asked for earplugs at one point, but the staff didn't know where I could get some. Here are the key noise points: - You can hear the elevator rumble late at night. - The cleaning staff make a terrible racket at 9am...

The hotel was good given its price. The quality of the furniture was good. The staff was speaking basic english, which is very helpful in a country where nearly nobody speaks it. The staff was enough welcoming. However , we have been charged 45 € for airport transfer from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen, and 40 Lira for a very bad dinner (...

Staying in Sisli

Neighbourhood Profile
Sisli
For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.
